Today I got my newest bird from Kaz. She is really pretty, She is a cinnamon violet and I have named her Cinnamon. :hap: The pictures aren't that great... :hap:

Ewww, yeah, I've heard that lizards like to eat cockroaches...I saw a little lizard in our backyard yesterday...Hopefully he had something to eat whilst he was here, hehehe .

No, the author didn't say why at all. It just said "Wet perches can cause Arthritis"!!! No reason at all.

I was having a look in one of my books about budgies and the Author had stated that wet perches can cause Arthritis like when it rains or gets wet from the hose...things like that. Do you think that this could really occur?

Yeah go ahead and copy. My Dad bought a timer now so that we can time how long we leave it on for and it will trun off automatically .

It has been so hot over here and I can't stand walking all the way to my aviary to wet the birds every few minutes so, I got my Dad to help me make a "shower" for the aviary that you connect to the hose. It is just a few mist sprinklers that shoot into one side of the aviary away from food sources. The birds really like it.

Well, found another one today... . Tomorrow we are going to get some 'Cockroach traps': A box with bait and sticky material inside. I will put them in the bottom of the aviary in places where the birds cannot get to them. Can't wait until the weather cools down so they will stop coming.

I did the same thing for my birds in the aviary! they LOVE it.

Lucky we only found ONE a few days ago...haven't seen any recently so that's a good sign.

Since it's been so hot over here we have now started getting cockroaches in the aviary! :yellowhead: I'm assuming they don't harm budgies but does anybody have any solutions of how to get rid of them? :bluebudgie:
