  1. My budgies in the big avairy were making a very loud fuss this morning so I went to inspect and found 2 sparrows that had found their way into the avairy. I finally caught them and disposed of them and have checked everywhere in the avairy but can't for the life of me find how they got in? I have replaced all the feeding stations and water containers with the new ones I've bought for our new avairy and changed the sand on the concrete. I am just concerned that sparrows being wild have left some disease in the avairy and don't know what else I can do?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Gorgeous looking birds, great buy :budgiedance:
  3. Ours do this too. It looks really strange as the hand on with their beaks as well as their feet? You think it would be warmer to snuggle up on the covered in part on the perches.
  4. She is a beauty, I love the dark wing markings.
  5. Yippee! You have a pinkie, congratulations
  6. My worry with ones like that is that they are to hard to access.
  7. Have you had a look at Ivorsons out your way Maesie? They usually have a good range of cages at reasonable prices (Don't buy birds there though)
  8. I'm sure I read somewhere not to use black marker as the eggs are porous?
  9. That's great news for you Maesie. Hope it all goes really well for you.
  10. Hopefully things will start moving soon
  11. For those that number their eggs, what do you use to do it? Is a greylead pencil okay?
  12. Does anybody else find that their budgies eat more in the colder weather? Mine seem to be going through twice as much seed since the weather has become colder.
  13. Any pinkies yet?
  14. Glad everything went well Maesie.
  15. I use wood shavings or sand - depending on the hen.
  16. What is the best amount of time to rest a hen after raising a clutch before returning her to the avairy? I have a hen that I've had in a cage after her babies fledged and I removed them a couple of weeks ago to rest the hen and she seems to be going stir crazy in the cage, biting at all the corners.
  17. This is what Bumble Bee looks like today, he is just learning to perch
  18. In some light they look mauve but I've said grey as that's the color of their cheek patches. When they were younger they sort of looked like Mother Of Pearl color on their bellies, very pretty. Trust me to be strange
  19. They were only $15 for the pair. Yes Norm my son is very happy with his choice, which is the main thing. We haven't spoken about him breeding them as yet, but I'm sure he will want to go down that road, he's very hands on helping with our other breeders.
  20. You will get some excellent information from the FAQ section http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...=show&cat=7
  21. This is what I thought. It makes me so mad when breeders lie about the birds ages, it makes no sense to me.
  22. I was trying to remember whether she was like it when I bought her and had to go back through photobucket to find an earlier photo and they weren't like that then. It has just been since the moult.
  23. Beautiful looking hen
  24. Denise replied to *Nerwen*'s topic in Budgie Pictures

  25. This hen only ever lays 4 eggs and the first got a hole in it.
