  1. He does seem opaline spangle... very odd this one though
  2. Fly them over with you daz i'll pay the excess LOL!
  3. Yes, with her father being recessive pied that makes her automatically split Pairing to a recessive cock could very likely give some recessive pied offspring
  4. Alot of spangles carry this. He's not opaline but he does carry what alot of people call an "opalesence" But i don't beleive there's anything to suggest this to mean that he's split opaline as alot of my spangles have it also... I beleive it is even a fault on the show bench??
  5. yep after ten days it definatly sounds like a Clear egg
  6. I like the latter of your choices best
  7. Very sweet! he's gorgeous
  8. By the looks of her mum and aunt i'd say they're only large pet types, like Zeuss who you gave me Kaz
  9. Remember, patience is a virtue
  10. if she's paired to a non-goldenface then only 50% of her babies will get it If paired to a goldenface/yellowface then the percentage will rise ( i personally would say she's a Yf as the colours not that intense)fallow has to be bred to another bird split for or showing the gene to get any visuals from it and opaline you already know you need a cock carrying it ;)Help ??? sounds like an opaline spangle Deb Show us a picture Although i've never heard of this showing one or two feathers to be carrying opaline as that could only apply to cocks if it were true as hens can't be split
  11. Very cool! How old was the egg whici is clear? it could be the most recently laid and not showing yet

baby1 is an opaline spangle dom pied - could be minus the dom pied, can't see properly baby2 is a ino by the look of it, but i can't see properly? does it have markings on it's wings? baby3 is a dom pied and baby4 is too young
  13. Agree with Kaz I've started "medelling" with show types now and what i considered a "good" pet type wasn't anywhere near what a show type was like... I invested in a few good show birds and have bred some nice chicks who're getting better by the day
  14. Just let someone who can work it out for you know what you're chasing from the babies. That way they can tell you if it's possible and what's the best candidate for the pairing
  15. ooOOoo sebby the fallow!!! put her genes to good use then Deb !!!
  16. What were her parents again Dave?
  17. Either a visual opaline or a split opaline would get you opaline bubs Do you have any cocks in your aviary who's mums were opaline? they'll be definate splits if so
  18. yf cinnwing opaline cobalt/violet Cinnamon always gives the blues a violet look to them
  19. that birds an opaline spangle dom pied
  20. Both birds are from the "ino" gene... albino and lutino being full ino's and fallow being Par-ino (gene which alters the pigmentation of the bird) I wouldn't necessarily say they're a good pair... it'll just throw more genes into the mix that you probably will have trouble breeding out of.
  21. gorgeous pics, i love laverne too!!!

Gorgeous bird Since her wings are already clipped take off the last 2 primary flight feathers on each wing also. It will minimise chances of damage or breakage
  23. Getting up there in number To think jan of 07 i had 20 birds
