Hey Tracy What size are you looking for? That perch isn't all that big, probably 25cm long?

Feeding Time .............(and Play Time)
Thanks everyone These photos were actually taken with my mobile phone! P.S. since getting this new toy, Fizzy has now changed his sleeping position - he used to sleep hanging on to the side of the cage near Sherbet, who would sit on the swing. Now he is sleeping on top of this new rope toy, on the top of the circle on an angle - silly bugger, why don't you just sit on it like a normal bird

(Laughing out loud) yeah, just making each other look good for the ladies :hap:

Preening Or Comforting
That is so very true. Sherbet (female) didn't like Fizzy (male) at first and kept on attacking him when he was only very young. I never thought they'd be civil towards one another, but they are and even though Sherbet is the boss, Fizzy doesn't seem to mind being second in charge

Preening Or Comforting
Sounds like best buddies to me :hap: They enjoy doing things together, being with you guys, sitting together. I find that my two like sleeping near each other and eat at the same time

Pet Shop Products
With the cage cleaner - l bought some myself and l don't use it I take the top part of the cage (the bar section) with the birds in it, and l put it on top of a table with newspaper. I clean the bottom sections with a scrubbing brush and some soapy water, making sure they are completely rinsed before putting them back. Then l get a damp cloth and wipe down the bars, just so l'm not spraying any chemicals on or near them :hap: Great value by the way!

Plastic Branch
Good idea The bit on the end is like a round hollowed out section, so l'll put some millet in there for them EDIT: Just did, and she managed to be able to hold onto the side of the cage and STRETCH over and reach it clever girl! Then l moved it over and she had no choice but to stand on the perch she almost lost her balance on the hole in the centre (where there are beads on a metal wire) but she's all good

Feeding Time .............(and Play Time)
Thanks guys They are pretty much always like that, constantly having fun As for the instructions Nick Nack, there weren't any on the tag, it was an oval shaped tag with the name of the company (no contact details) and the other side was black except for the price ($4!) They are chewing on the ends of the frayed bits, but l think thats part of the novelty? I might trim them down as l could see how they could get their foot caught up in one stray bit. Fizzy was sitting on the rope and a stray bit has come up and over the circle part, and his foot was standing on it.

Feeding Time .............(and Play Time)
Libby - ah okay, l see now :rip: Is the length of the rope hanging from the circle of rope too long for them to get caught up in? I can trim it down so its not as long?

Feeding Time .............(and Play Time)
Here are some photos taken over the last few days while they have been eating their veggies *Warning* - lots of photos Sherbet : Yay, l got to it first! Yummy :fear Fizzy: Not for long!! Fizzy: Bummer, she must have heard me Sherbet: *evil laugh* Sherbet: I always win! Fizzy (not in shot) : what on earth is that?! Fizzy: Seems to be some kind of rope swing thing... *jumps on* Fizzy: Na, na, can you see me? Fizzy: See me yet? Yay! There l am! This toys kinda cool Just one question, l read last year somewhere to be careful with toys that have the above rope, because they can chew it off and swallow it or something?

Invasion In The Cage
I feel your pain :hap: They like to hide outside my front door, and as soon as l step outside fully, they run out all over the place. I hate them so much. Sorry l don't have any advice for you though

Agressive Sherbet
I try that too, but she just does it everytime l go up to the cage. She can also see my coming sometimes and headbutts her bell. I just went outside to see them, and l put my face up to the cage (she's eating her veggie mix) and l said softly a few times "hello sherbet", then l went around to where the doors are, and l put my hand inside. She jumped off the perch she was eating from and jumped onto her swing. I put my whole hand inside, where she could see it, still kept saying "hello sherbet" and opened my palm, then turned my hand over, l did this few times with her watching me. I then put my finger out towards her a little, and she didn't go to try and bite. I wasn't as close as l would be if l were to get her to step up, but not too far away either. Then l took my hand out. Is this good or not?

Agressive Sherbet
I'd love to, but unfortuanely l'm not made of money (darn biology, why couldn't we be made of money )I only bought that cage about 3 months ago l think?I have seen one thats the same height but double the floor space, should l fork out money for it now? It was about $140 and l'm not sure the stand was included. Thanks elly I do this already, and l talk to them both, she does come right up to me, but she tries to bite me through the bars of the cage.

Too Much?
Hey Missy EVERY BUDGIE LOVE MILLET ... When I first introduced fruits and vegs to mine it took forever I felt like I was wasting food and Money cause the fresh stuff is way over priced ( so I grow my own) But I got some millet spray and cut them into little bits rather than the long strip and they flew straight to the F&V (fruit & Veg ) and ate the millet then tried all the bits of eggplant and carrots and rice and etc they now love it ........ Neat - thats a great idea Mine are eating the veggie mix, and l think it helped that l put some seed in with it. I had previously tried just a single veggie/fruit on the side of the cage and let them nibble it, let me see what they did like and what they don't. Fizzy likes corn more than Sherbet and neither seem to take to the carrot but will eat it when all the other veggies are gone! I use sweet corn (on the cob but l cut it off for the mix) snowpeas, apple, broccolli, carrot. I made four batches tonight, one l gave them and the other 3 are in the fridge.

Agressive Sherbet
Thats an idea I tried taking her into the bathroom (toilet) but she was freaking out, she was panting and shaking. She flew up to the ceiling straight away, but hit herself on the ceiling then crash landed twice poor little chook I think l will just leave them both be, they seem to be happy with their current situation and as long as they are happy, then l am happy. They are happy enough without me interfering, so be it.

Agressive Sherbet
Thats cruel making the budgie do that just so she can put it on camera. Sherbet (she!) doesn't come out of the cage. About a month ago , decided to try to get them both to come out on their own free will. I put the cage (and myself) into the toilet room with the door closed. I opened up both of the huge doors and sat on the toilet seat quietly. Fizzy braved it and came out, but because his wing is clipped he flew straight into the air spray thing and took it out, poor little bugger. Sherbet did not budge. I put my finger in the cage to get her up on my hand (which she was biting) and as soon as l got her out of the cage, she immediately jumped back inside. This afternoon when l got home from work, l went up to the cage and spoke very softly and calmly. Then after a while l put my hand in and she didn't have any intention of biting it, she just tried to get away. But then when l put the veggie mix in, she did, only once, and l managed to get my hand in and out with only one small bite from Sherbet. Do you suggest that l take her on her own into the toilet room with me? Its the only room l feel comfortable having her in, because she can't hurt herself or get lost behind tv cabinets etc. her wings were clipped, but that was when l first got her. Like l said, l don't take them out of the cage, so they don't fly, they can't even fly in their cage well, its more vertical than horizontal. Before l got Fizzy, l took Sherbet into the toilet room with me one time to let her have a fly, but l found that her heart was beating faster than normal and she was breathing fast, it was obviously scaring her. Should l try it again or leave it? Thanks for your help.
