okay one I went and did not spend my $100 that I set myself! I got a transport Box that divdes into two which I like, not as much as MBs but still just as good. I got this grey hen This opline Hen Wish I could take a better picture of her back I also got a Pied cock (or I believe it is a cock) but he will not settle for a photo. He was a $5 bird right at the end that I had walked past a few time and really liked so figured that as a discount I would pick him up just a cute looking bird. then we stopped at the green grocers on the way home and got lots of veggies for them. So that is my round up, MB got a few to I thought I was bad Now I really need my new cages which should be here on Wed/Thurs and hopefully my breeding room done in the next month as I have run out of places to put all my birds I have three seperate groups that are at differnent stages of Quarretine!

Nothing wrong with that depends really on how may birds you have and what amount you are getting. I buy 25 - 30 kg at a time so I need to put it in something when I had one bird I had the seed box and just kept it in a cupboard and it was fine.

Picked up my seed bins today from Bunnings for $10 each Kaz thanks for the tip above, will have to keep and eye out for one of these.

How is the littel guy today MB and inprovement? As for Buddy here are some pics This is my sister she is not a bird person so to have a bird on her is a BIG thing. MB your right he chews everything like a puppy! I am going to have to make sure he gets lots of chew toys! he is chewing all the treads off my nightgown at the moment

You so need to stop talking yourself down MB there are perfect. What I will do is work on the stoy then get Dad and Karma out and about and take pictures so that you can then use these as a base for the drawning. Oh anyone have Ideas on the bird name? I am happy to use Harley or Buddy (my new little one from MB) however I also take suggestions so how about we look at having a comp and get the board to decided who budgie gets to be in the book?

Correction make that three new Budgies! Took the Possum to MBs and walked off with another bird. A little blue spangle boy who has been called Buddy. Will post pictures when I get them Oh my 4 no more now is 16!

Does anyone draw? I am inthe process of writing a book about karma She is my Dad's seeing eye dog and I have been approached about writing a book for kids about her adventures. This would be used as a info book for kids who's parents or grandparents or anyone in the family has a dog. What i want to do is have Karma telling Harley (my Budgie) about her days work so a trip the the supermarket or down the road to get the post or to a shopping centre etc... if anyone wants to give me a hand in either writing it or doing the pictures (I can't draw to save myself) then I would really love it. Full credit would be given and at the moment the book would be an inhouse thing for SEDA but might go on to being published for wider circulation. I so need to go down to Bunnings and get some bins. The Breeder that I saw today recommended this Budgie seed from a stock shop near me Price wise not bad but not great But I got a 25kg bag so need to get something to hold it all!

I thought so! Was not my mouse and the thing made my dogs crazy and my sister is scared of them so the mouse had to go! I am sure these are not the best birds that I could have gotten off him but I went with a gut feeling and took the two that caught my eye when I went in. He didn't have any with muddy belly's for MB and me but he said that if he got any he would set them aside at no cost cause normally if they have extra black spots / black markings on their belly etc... then he just cull culls them Also why does one have blue feet? I did not really notice this till I got home.

So I had this Mouse and its set up for sale / free to a good home. I find a guy who is happy to take it and his Daughter is excited and I go around there today to drop it off and find out be breeds Budgies. He said that he could not take nothing for the Mouse and all the set up so he said I could pick a couple of his cull brids as I was just like in WOW of his set up! I mean Daz yours is a tiny back shed compaired to this guys and he had some REALLY nice birds (or I thought they where nice but then again I am learning) I got these two guys One has an Orange / gold ring so I think he is an 06 bird (I need to write down which colours match with which years failing that I should have asked!) but he does have the pretty flecks on his head and has blue feet which is strange but well he was cute (yeah I know shut up) The other one has a Black ring which is this years so he is younger and was out of a group hatched early this year. I really like the second one he is just one of those birds that catches your eye and in a flight of about 25 that are all the same colour it is hard to do. Oh he also gave me a possum! MB is going to come around and pick it up So yeah my 13 has grown to 15. I really need my breeding cages and garage converted!

My head hurts but thanks for this, I am reall intrested in going in with MB and doing this even if it just giving her space and scouting birds. Now I have an idea of what to ask local breeders for and hopefully we can get a good first generation base. Went out to the Aviary at 6am before I went to work and it was still really windy, all the straw from the ground is all through the wire and stuck to the roof, perches are down and it's a mess to the guys are staying in the Kitchen today as well. They woke us up today when the fish light came on singing away and fighting over the top perches :hap: Our outdoor setting moved a bit and I thinkwe lost a tarp but other then that we came through fine. The house at the front not so happy as the dead tree came down and broke one of their windows. Fun night had by all!

Sorry Elly missed your first comment. We had a really bad wind storm a while back http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/fin...7420202596.html It was pretty bad, alot of people said how they lost birds from avairys tipping over which is why i was worried I think MB lost some in the last storm. They where downplaying it on the radio today but the news tonight started saying that it was going to be as bad as last time, and last time my outside table ended up in the neighbours back yard.

Oh I had not thought about aspirating.... I don't know if Sky knows what a veggie is, the guy that had her before I think feed her shell grit and her appitite is coming back with a vengence! Yes new mix every day, I have found with the heater that it smells nearer the 12 hour mark so I do a new mix in the morning and another one at night cause then it does not smell so bad.

It got really bad here really quick, it's rummbling through I think to add to my issues is that the corner that the Avairy is in is like a dead end so the wind comes down around my house and striaght down to the end with the avairy and around it as it goes up if that makes sense so it tries to take it with it!

Update - My Avairy just tried to Fly to OZ! We tied it down all four sides now thankfully i got the birds out when I did!

Let me check okay just got attacked by 8 unhappy Budgies but yes I believe he does.
