Shell grit can get impacted in the crop and cause issues. There is a bunch of things that it can cause in Budgies and is not needed. Old school breeders will still use it and alot of pet shops will still say that you need it but you don't

I enter as many times as possible. I have a spam e-mail address that I use to enter comp's on line and I also have a disposal mobile (pre paid that I use for bands to send out reminders of gigs) so that if they call they just get the voice mail and I don't have to worry about spam calls and txt message all day. Yes i have won alot but I have entered even more. i think i worked out the ratio is about 20 to 1. so keep at it and have fun, if you are not having fun then what's the point!

*mods not sure where this topic should go so sorry if in wrong place* I have a few birds that do not get them seed under husk thing. I have to change their seed for them otherwise they would starve to death with a full bowl of seed. In the avairy it's not such an issue but in the breeding cages I start to get worried. 9 times out of 10 I can top the feed twice a day for birds I know that have an issue but what if something happens and I change it on say Monday morning and then can't get to change it till Tuesday night??? So I started looking for alternatives to normal feed cups. I found people talking about mini hoppers. Basically it's a large jar that drains the feed into a shallow dish below is an example for cats. I want smaller ones with flatter bottoms that will fit in my flight cages so I don't have to worry so much. Any idea of where I can get some? Or does anyone have a better idea?

I just look at the rolls of wire and think I have to put them up tomorrow! then give it a good vacum and move everything out so the lino can go down then move everything in wait a few days to let it air and then we have the great Budgie move of 2008! I have completly re thought the layout after looking at the space today. i think i am infact going to back the cages on to each other in a bank in the middle of the room, this will i think give them more light and also place them directly under the overhead light which I think will be a good thing. I just seem to have birds and cages everywhere. I really need to clean the cages outside so I can reset quarantine for 3 of my guys and split the two girls up so I know who is still sick and who is better based on poo and then we can work it out. I am so tired I just want to go to sleep and all this help that my family promised me equaled about 10 mins!

Well it's painted, not very well but it is painted! opened the second tin of paint to find out that it is a different colour :hap: so the roof is a nice shade of off white or as I call it, white mixed with dirt and budgie poo colour! Tomrrow we will attach the mesh and then hopefully the lino will go down which means that I can move guys in there next weekend.... or maybe early in two weeks time as next weekend i am going away.

At the moment I am sitting there checking them twice a day saying "please don't get sick, please don't get sick" I have run out of room for people near heat vents! Agree with their diet part that is why you should change them to a new diet on gradual base.
