i can see how the photos on here arnt that intense with the violet purple looking like cobalts and mauve. Yasmin is a pretty bird and so is your yellowface violet. In October i'm going to a budgie show and will be joining up and will be looking for a breeder with purple birds.

how hard is it to find a purple?

my birds are all in a avairy waiting for me to finish their new home (cant due to rain ) and this male has paired up with an albino as my 2 female yellowfaces have already paired up. thanks for the help on the colour.

is it safe to breed crested to crested budgies together or are they like canaries and have a fatal gene

after 12 months without even an egg, i've moved house and currently turning a wood shed into another avairy, my birds will soon be laying eggs in their current home so i'm hoping they can hold off untill they move into their new home. this rain we been having kinda stopped me working on the new avairy.

thanks for the info i didnt realise apple seeds are a no no i just pick the apple of the tree and just cut it in half and put it into the avairies

i have a violet mauve (well i think he is) and was wondering what colour should i put with him so i can get a violet/purple. I've only ever seen this colour berfore and that was long before i started with the budgies.
