Touching Moment
I like my birds alot. While I don't consider myself a rabbid animal lover, I'm still very glad to have them around me to bring me joy. Well I just candled egg #1. I looked at it... I had to take it out of the nest afterall, as much as I tried, I can't candle any egg in there without taking them out. Well, like I said, I candled it... and I was seeing a little heart beating. I swear, this was a beautiful moment.

Marking Eggs
Yah well... It's the first eggs I ever get so I'm curious see. Well I went to the shop today and got myself a torch. It's not a snakelight, unfortunately, but I think it might do the job just fine! Clicky The lamp part, as you can see, is at a 90 degree angle from the pen. That could just work for checking eggs in the nest. I also got myself a tiny much brighter LED lamp that I'll be able to put behind the eggs carefully if the pen isn't bright enough.

Hospital Cage Made By Me
? Hospital cage? It's the first time I hear of such a thing. I mean, I have two smaller cages offhand in case I have to carry my birds around or isolate them, but I had no idea I needed something fancier...

Question About Hatched Egg Shell
Woah. Sorta like some assimilation out of scifi movies?

Plants?
Quite frankly I'd rather just see the plant go than replace it with a new other species. We have awful luck with plants, so it's best to just not have any more!

Plants?
I'm trying my best to keep the birds away from it, norm. Frankly, I'd throw it outside. It's not only dangerous, it's UGLY and it looks awfully sick. That doesn't help much for the looks of a living room. And really... Aloe Vera's good for their health? Well, looks like I don't have to worry at all. No scientific evidence towards the benefits but I at least know it won't harm my bird.

Marking Eggs
Must be cuz it's a LED. I have a tiny LED keychain laying around, I'll use that next time. Hmm, maybe it's worth a stop by a shop on work's lunchtime though. Just to see if I can find one that is easier to use than my keychain... the button is a bit hard to hold.

Marking Eggs
I would use a flexitorch... But the one I have is USB! I can't bring my computer there, hehe... I candled the two first eggs (considering #1 might be #2 and all that mess I did. ) in a hurry today but I didn't see anything. I might've missed it or it's a bit too early. I'll check back in a couple days...

Marking Eggs
Hey there Keets. I just decided to come here under my real name. I already love it. It's a friendly place. Thanks for showing it to me! And oh yea! Egg #3 has been laid! Going for 4?? MAYBE! We'll see!

Marking Eggs
Well, when I think of a PEN I think of something with a much finer tip than a marker...

Plants?
I know lots of plants are bad for our birdies, but I was wondering... Is the Aloe Vera one of them? Pat um... Has keen interest into that one. I know he already ate a chunk of it before. I'm always trying to keep him away from the couple plants we have but one minute he's on the playgym, I turn around, and when I look back 10 seconds later he's chewing that aloe! (the other plant we have is named... Dieffenbachia. I know it's very bad for him. I'm working very hard on convincing my mom to get rid of it. It's so ugly anyway. Seriously. Ugliest, unhealthiest plant ever.)

Marking Eggs
Well I would've used markers too but I just have smelly ones. And the highlighters I have... I have no idea if they're water based! So... pencil it was. Let's hope it'll stay there long enough!

Question About Eggs...
Thanks for the information. (And yea... these two sure mate everyday...) Darn! Looks like I can't go "See see? I knew it!" Oh well.

Question About Eggs...
It's not quite a crucial question I have here, it's more of a ponder to break an argument I'm having! My mother says that the eggs have to be fertilized all the time. As in... First egg was fertilized, comes out... Then they have to mate again to fertilize the second one and then again for the third... etc etc etc. And I disagree with that. I always thought myself that they just had to mate once, then a few days later she was starting to lay eggs and didn't have to mate again because all the eggs were fertilized. So... Who's wrong??

Marking Eggs
Well I used a HB, but I didn,t even have to apply pressure. You just slide it across the surface and it marks. Palely, but it does.

Marking Eggs
Well I just marked them. Yea, them. #2 is in! Heehee, that happened while I was outside doing yardwork apparently. ...I hope I didn't do anything wrong. As I took one to mark it, my hand started shaking. I hope I didn't scramble them... But I don't think that was enough. That said, #2 is... well, I have no idea if I marked them right. I have to keep in mind that #1 might be #2 and #2 might be #1. Eeps.

Marking Eggs
Regular lead pencil? Well that's what I was wondering. So these aren't harmful?

Marking Eggs
I want to mark my eggs to make sure I know which is which, but I'm not sure what kind of pen I should use. I know you can't use oil based markers and such, but I been wondering, does a normal lead pencil work or can it be bad for the egg?

Won't Take Nesting Material
Well I think she's already incubating it. When I touched it earlier to add some bedding I noticed how warm it was. She still spend long minutes in there. When she'll be feeling it's time to incubate, will she spend her whole time in there?? That's little details I could never find over the net...
