  1. Feathers, What age are your KK rung birds.I have been trying to work out,if there is system to his numbering.I have not brought of his birds.. I can`t not remember the last time I saw a kk rung bird.He has`nt sold in victoria for a year or 3.
  2. I have a box and already paid for them to come up just wondered if you needed to do any thing to make the trip better for the birds cover the box etc. But not sure if they need air to circulate etc Tracey Is the box a proper carry box for birds, if not, they may not take it on the plane.
  3. Yes,Ivermectin,& I would put a little vasoline on as well help soften it.Will need to trim the beak as well. Those birds did`nt get like that over night.Thats weeks of neglect, maybe months.(^$#@$%)
  4. Yes Tracey,Woods & Mow are well known.Mow 1st at the National this year, with a lacewing, Keen & Stephens are NSW as well.I know Keen has good birds.
  5. Tracey, You will need a carry box.I can`t do photos to show you.But someone else might be able,I would check with the plane company.Iam not sure if so don`t take birds. Its best to check.I have flown birds from Perth Syd Hobart. No problems.
  6. With the chicks in the nest, once there tail feathers are about 10 or 15mm long.I put them onto the floor of the breeding cage for the cock to feed.I have a half closed jam tin in the corner of the box,so they can excape, if attacked. If a hen starts to lay & there is a chick still in the nest,I will foster to another box.But in most cases the chicks are out of the nest box.
  7. Pie,The rings with SA ++++,in the National are Kakoschke & Rice.He is one of top breeders in SA if not the biggest, could breed 1000 birds a year,If you have a bird with SA ++++ it most likely 1 of his birds. Its probley not a lot of help to you,but its a fair chance its 1 of his birds. He sends up to 200 birds to NSW each year to be auctioned off.If there is anything else, just send me a PM.

All I say, for breeders to come on here & encorage PPl to try & keep these birds alive is (*&^%^&&*@) & to say you are bird lovers. Ive said my bit on this post, very disappointed.

They don`t live long.Once the parents stop feeding them. They can`t feed them selves. They are just all feather. Its best if they are put to sleep. It is crual to keep them alive.
  11. You could sit him down & give him a good talking to. No I don`t think there is anyway of stoping him from doing it.Its a cage thing,You go along to a show & they will be be full on humping there drinker, the cage front. If you find away let the forum know
  12. Thats not a problem.Take Ozzie out.
  13. The lights are on in my flights & breeding room till 22.30 & the radio goes 24/7.They think its spring & summer all the time.
  14. Yes, Don`t take any notice, or find him a mate,
  15. KathyW,If you would like to join a club. There is the Border Club.Address, RMB 1030,Wodonga 3691. They meet the1st Sunday of the month.
  16. : Pie, What a lovely SOFT colour.Cinnamon are never bright coloured : :(Laughing out loud):  You will get some nice colour from this X of blues & violets, : PS;I think cock is Mauve.
  17. Pie. A photo please,I have to see this bright purple budgie.
  18. Yes I would think you have been lucky this time.
  19. Pie, if she is cinnamon, she would be a soft violet.Cinnamons are a soft colour.
  20. They are birds,If you don`t want them to breed, thats easy, don`t put a nest in the cage.Throw a sheet over the cage & they can preform in private.
  21. Kabe,From what I have read so far I would get that nest box out & clean it & put it in a position were you can, keep a eye on the chicks & keep it clean.
  22. Some hens ceres never change to brown & will go down & lay.As long as they are healthy, pair them up.Iam more concerned with the cocks.I like to see the cocks, chating to the hens on the wire or another cock on the perch.Hens will lay,but unless the cock is fertile,no filled eggs.
  23. I think a plastic bottle top would stop in place, for as long as it took you to put it there, unless you super glued it on.
  24. 105,In your other thread you said you can`t reach the nest box.Now you say the hen has tape worm. Then you say no she has`nt,What did you see that you thought it was a tape worm. PS I think you better, find away of getting to that nest box.
  25. 105,I hope for your sake the hen not a wet feeder.Because by the time they are ready to come out. They will be caked with gunk.I would be puting a bit of dry nesting material in the box from time to time to help keep the nest dry.
