Howard Martin has their ordianary budgie mix and they have their Riverina Mix which is meant to have more canary seed in it than the normal mix as I buy the Riverina Mix formualed buy Ron Blizzard well that is what i have been told. Anyway if you go to Howard Martin and ask for a bag or 2 of budgie mix you will only gey the normal mix you have to go to the office and ask for the Riverina mix which is kept down the back away from the normal mix . And every bag I have bought does have a lot of canary seed in it so I doubt very much that the bag Pearce has bought is from the same company and if so I would be complaining about it.

The cock was fertile last year but he is 04 ring and I really haven't seen them mate up she seems to come out of the nest box only for a second a kiss and smooch and she is back in again normally she wood come out and lower herself for him so I am blaming her at this stage.

What do you mean Macka 3 days after they are meant to hatch? The one fertile one was about the 4th egg layed. Nest 11 is on her second round 1st round clear and this round is looking clear.

Thanks Liv try and stay posative Nest 2 laid their 1st egg today and Nest 12 laid her second egg and I took hers away because she distroyed the last one and replaced it with a clear one, I put a marble in their the other day she after she destroyed the 1st so just hoping it will turn her off.

In that case I would try it seems it is so young she might think it's hers but I would put one of those other eggs that are ready to hatch under her to bring her on.

How old is the chick and when is the 1st egg ready to hatch. I would wait she may likely kill it if her eggs aren't ready to hatch

I give my birds cooked chicken carcase and the breeding cages and babies get race horse blend in their bowls in the morning it has molasses in iot the birds love it a breeder put me on to it from Canberra.

I have never had french moult (touch wood) so I guess I have been lucky so far

I use the block ones too plus traps
