Oh Mate .... Are you treating the babies for canker to ???
  4. Oh MB, What exciting News  I hope they turn out just perfect for you mate
  5. You have been given excellent advice . . I will just add my 2 cents worth .... Vet VETS will leave one wing unclipped ... They will also leave the first 2 flight feathers on .... IF you do not see an avian vet TELL the vet NO you want both wings clipped as well as the primary flights... They will of course ask why , they can't fly with one wing clipped .... I have been to heaps of vets and have had this happen and seen this happen ... I just tell them 1. Leaving the first and / or second flight will cause damage to the bird like LIV said it can get caught 2. Both wings get clipped so that the bird has balance - and can FLUTTER safely to the ground or landing area ....

OH NO October sucks Doesn't it - okay what is your base like. Is it a Cement, Soil, Timber , Soil on top of sand etc ..... What about the ROOF is it an open roof??? Did the vet tell you to treat ALL the birds or just the ones showing signs of illness? Canker & Cocci are Hidden illness - You will have carries that show no signs what so ever of it - and once there is stress ( breeding - Change of Food - Moult and a few others ) is when they show what damage can really be done ... What I would do is : Get a cage disinfect it all leave the solution on it for 30 mins so that is has activated to it's fullest .. Rinse well and then either let sun dry or Towel it of - Get all new perches and wash them too or a quick solution is to stray branches with AIL ( THIS IS FOR AN EMERGENCY SITUATION) then go get branches and wash them with water blast them with the hose and let them dry off .... But all the birds into the cage ... and treat them all .... Any sick SICK ones ( fluffed etc) get a heat lamp on to them in another cage ( if you can or a box or something there is always a solution) ... I have used fish tanks for an emergency hospital cage ...) Get to your aviary in OLD CLOTHES and SHOES .... GUT IT OUT!!!!! All perches swings , mineral block, cuttle bones everything!!!!! Toss it all .... If you can't afford new feeding stations Soak them all in disinfectant !!! I would suggest to gut and clean thoroughly that aviary! Wash down all walls, especially the wire as birds climb it with their beaks and etc ... The base if it is cement Bleach the thing, If timber replace it ... if soil Get Pavers - timber or Gyprock - Villa board is better as it is more heavy duty ... Get all new branches and FIT OUT make sure to wash everything - Once the birds have the All clear put them in ...... If you have a nesting box in there TOSS IT OUT!!! To some this may sound so extreme - BUT THIS IS WHAT I WOULD DO ... I would get rid of everything to make sure that the only thing that the illness is left in is the birds and get the medication into them
