  1. I let mine go naturally .... and if there are any near the back room the light gets switched off after 3 hours of sun set .... MB can you ask the breeder or AV to ask the breeder she got them from how he breeds them ?
  2. $1,000 okay .... That is expensive ... TOYS R US .... TARGET ....BIG W ..... KMART sell them for under $400 Tj & Dylan have the Medium size one ... It is awesome as I can fill it with the balls from the ball pit ... They are so much safer then normal ones ... When dylan was crawling i used to put him in it while i hang the washing out ..... Pros ... The netting is also a sun shade Has protective Matting so no springs are visable and not fingers or legs can get hurt Zips Up ( well my one does) so no falling out when they are running wild on it You can dig a hole in the ground and have the tramp in it ... ( uncle done this ... It is even better then being above ground ) I am sure that there are more I can't think of any .. CONS: When it rains the matting stays wet for a few days so expect wet bums You may need a ladder ( i use a milk crate cause I am a tight bum  ) After a few too many games of bull rush and bouncing off the netting some of the pole may bend Large DOGS LIKE TO GET ON IT AND EAT THE MATTING OF IT Naughty Jake ......
  3. Agree, Alot of people think that culling is KILLING or KILLING OFF birds. When it means what Kaz said ^ in the post above ... I just wanted to add my 2 bob worth on FM as it is something that I have been reading up on in all the medical journals and speaking with vets and all that hoo ha ... So basically in all the studies and research that has taken place in the last 50 years ... the conclusion has come to that FM is not caused by "one specific" factor but by a combination of several factors .... NUTRITION - HEREDITY - OVER BREEDING & ENVIRONMENT.... It comes down to the testing they done on FM parents they fostered out eggs ... These grew into Healthy chicks .... They fostered out 1 week olds These Grew into FM birds ... and they let the FM parents raise which 50% were FM ... also tests done on FM parents and NON FM parents found that FM was present in the fostering of the FM eggs ... so that is another avenue to look at as well So in that i will assume that nutrition and Genes play an important role in the whole FM thing .... Or how the crop milk is produced ... But that is my understandings of it at the moment ... This is something that I believe needs alot of attention focused on ..... If we were to continue to breed FM birds then the whole point of breeding FM resistant birds is a waste of time, money and life really ..... My thought though
  4. They are fin If you grow your own JB or from an organic farm ... Strawberries and most other berries have a thin layer of skin so all chemicals and pesticides can penetrate the fruit which will lead to poising or illness to birds

They may have a solution that we aren't yet able to think of or give at the moment .... Best of luck with it mate .... and your little spoilt princess

Well ..... Wow ....... What can I say .... You have bird catchers LOL ... Hello & Welcome .... Thank you for sharing your stories with us ....
  15. Best way to keep them all healthy is to have them in a clean environment - Water containers and flooring as the main areas to maintain cleanliness - I am not saying that you don't have a clean aviary at all - Birds can pick anything up very easily especially if they are stressed or a little of weather ... You were given an in water medication which would only "fix" what that medication is designed for .. That is why it is very important to get a clear diagnosis .... Did the vet tell you what he was treating for ? Did you do a clean out and wash down of the cage / aviary after finding the dead birds ... Most illness and diseases are left in the cages / aviaries ..... Be it the flooring, Seed & Food along with the food holders - Water and water dishes some toys ... You have been given great advise good luck with finding the answer ...
