You can also get Toy / Play Gyms Like this one http://www.bottlebrushstuff.com/new%20pics%203/DSC_7014.jpg Where there is natural woods for chewing - Will save you on buying extra furniture (Laughing out loud)
  4. Just a note Derek I had 2 hens left inf my avairy ( breeders) waiting them to finish before I to the Cabients .... While I was out they had a massive fight and have left each other battleed and brusied ( i am glad that dave spoke to Missylu while I was out) who advised him to seperate the hens ..... In saying so both birds are fine now babaies and eggs ........ But if no one was home who know what may have happened .... THANKS MISSYLU xxx
  5. INDZ - I am taking by what you said that it MAY not be TOO SERIOUS - Just make sure that there is plenty of Cuttlebone Natural branches and chew toys and seeds to help her keep her beak trimed and in shape - If let over grown they can't eat, drink properly ......

Yeah Ikon This bird as I said on the Brasea 2008 post should have started at $500. But with most things luck plays a big part. You can still grab a $40 or $50 bargain especially at such a large auction as this, with 450 birds. People tend to nod off after a while and or near the end when people have really blown there budget, there was at least at this auction some of the best still to come! My strategy at these things is to highlight the birds from a good breeder that are compatible with what I already have, and try to buy a outstanding cock and at least two or three hens from that breeder. Throw these together and see what evolves. Put one of the spare hens to your best cock that you already have and cross them over the following year. Being a novice the results with birds of this calibre are normally well above average and should do fairly well at that level. It pays to go along, you never know! Caution: Show birds or birds that have won major awards don't always make good stock breeding birds. Also big hens with cock type heads can also be a problem! interesting ... i'd love to see an auction one time

  13. Heya , okay I am thinking that this will happen to me the best Blonde question asked here .... With the English ( show Budgies) the feathers that around their mouths are they meant to be bushy too.... I noticed today that Prince's feathers are 1/2 covering his beak because they are long. Is this normal. He his feeding both himself, Gypsy and their foster child fine and doesn't seem to be affecting him ... Also Snowman 1/2 English ( if you can actually have that ) Albino Cock he is the same but only slight ..
  14. Thanks Norm ... I went out the other day and got Sulphadim for bacteria infections ( though still don't know what to look for if it is bacterial) I think runny poos am i correct in that .... I added it to my BUGIE FRIST AID KIT : )

It has been cool here the last couple of days well WINDY .... I will keep my eyes on her and the eggs and have my fingers, toes, legs and anything else I can crossed ....
  16. This is my point too Kaz, especially since it is over grown ...... INDZ is there anything in the cage she could have cut it on , A bit of wire a branch with a sharp edge, or HARD plastic toys
  17. Mine is they way the groom each other Rub head and kiss .... Think about not having any arms to hug your loved one it's a really sweet thing to see .... For me anyway

  20. Gezzz Mate that's no good ... Put her into a hospital cage and keep her warm ...A bleeding budgie is not a good thing as they themselves can not stop bleeding if in the wrong areas .... put a little cornflower on the bleeding area.... How long is long >>>> Have you got a picture of her beak??

Personally I'd prefer the normal way with seed dishes ( the revolving door is a great idea) However I like to go in and see everything and everyone do the daily checks Poops , and etc ... with the revolving feeders you kinda get lazy and just fill their feed ..
  24. Heheeh aren't they stripes ... (Laughing out loud) thought I'd jump on the band wagon
  25. Heehe you make me laugh :(Laughing out loud):
