  1. :hap: To be honest I have no idea mate :hap: My head is full of stuff I thought that there was a plucked baby But it might have been someone else ... :hap: But they are beautiful .. I love spangles
  2. Hi & Welcome ... Sorry to hear of the Hen flying away ... It has happen to the rest of us ... Dad will do just fine - Infact most breeders take the hen ( mother) away and leave the dad to do the raising the last 1-2 weeks ... You can help buy feeding soft foods like egg & biccy mixes. Fruits & Veggies with added multigrain / Brown bread ... These soft foods help the dad feed the babies a lot easier then on plain seed .... I hope that this helps ... Feel free to ask as many questions That's what we are all hear for There is also a FAQ'S page full of great info
  3. Was that the one that was feather plucked pearce? The youngest one ... At the age of 4 weeks ( answering earlier question) Not all babies are able to eat on their own .... Best to leave with parents that extra week or 2... Doesn't have to be in the nest box they can have ( depends on how you have your set up ) 1. Nest box in cage : Take lid off the nest box 2. Nest Box outside cage: Use a upside down container ( Kaz's Igloo) 3. Aviary : Have a larger container in the floor and have babies in there full of seed ... All these options have worked

:hap: ........ It is the funniest thing to hear let a lone see :hap: I have not had the pleasure LOL to see it on a surface But I am "guessing" as long as it is clearish that there wold be nothing to worry about .. However I am sure some of our Members who are vets will confirm or deny it ......

  14. .. Thanks for the experiment I will make sure I keep forgetting the Baby corn now :nest:
  15. MAte can you see another one next time ... I agree with Kaz - Text books vets can't be that good ... Yes FM end of feathers are snaped, opene, contains blood in an open shaft ... These are the tell tale sign ... you did the best thing with pulling the tail feathers out Do let that guy tell you different .... The quills of the feather has blood supply running through them (until they are at full length and moult out ) so if you had left it .... I would had to say what would have happened .....
  16. Liv that is what I was guessing to ... *since the post of determining sex in the nest box that is all I do now LOL Guess and look

:party0011: YAY!!!! That is fantastic news to hear mate ..... What a Big Girl she is now I am so happy for you
  21. Have you got a clearer Photo ?
  22. Sorry to hear this mate ..... Question, was it an avain vet? I have a similar problem Not the cyst part but the constant feather loss and etc ..... Nutrition and mite along with FM can play a role in the feather loss too .... Memphsis is a FM bird I didn't pay the $55 test for it as I have seen the signs in my very first "bought" bird a few years back and paid for the testing then - So i knew one those feather dropped that it was FM but was hopping it wasn't .... He has since gone through his Moult re grew some flights back only for them to be dropped again .... ( fall out) .... I have increase added nutrition into his diet so his body feathers aren't fallen out as much - He is now a 1/2 runner 1/2 flapper :party0011: I didn't have the heart to take him back ( again another bought bird ) I agree with Kaz about the parents having feather issues ... Bst of luck mate .....
