  1. You may find that these eggs, are infertile too - As Lizzie is 5 and your cock is 7 months Old ?? But he is nice
  2. Lizzie is 5. Hens shouldn't be breed after the age of 4, But I am sure the Experts will let you know of this
  3. Ahhhhh, true Norm, that didn't even cross my mind
  4. It depends on if there is any territorial issues other wise I would leave him there too In saying that I don't have teils anymore
  5. it is bareback reining ( reining is the style )
  6. It is a personal option - really But it is BEST to have some nesting materials on hand! In the wild budgies use their feathers as nesting materials, and I have noticed on hens of mine, they kick the shavings out untill the babies hatched then i put them back in and they still perfer their feathers .....
  7. What color feet does the White one have???? If they are Blue it is a Double factor

  10. I was going to advise the canary seed but Nerwen beat me to it .... If he can't fly from perch to perch - you are going to have to re arrange the cage put in Ladders LARGE ladders and 1 perch . make the food dishes on the other side that the perches are not on so that he needs to climb wither the walls of the cage or use the ladders this will help he loose some weight - Also the rat wheels is a GREAT IDEA
  11. Ohhh WOW !!!!!!! They are beautiful
  12. They arne't making you are liar Missylu My chicks at present 1 has now become a YF Thanks Nerwen :Das I was really confused too
  13. YES - I have just had 2 clutched of 5 chicks raised and currently I hen on 6 babies ( 1 died at 2 days old ) I am in NSW which is cooler then QLD - i do however do what TB says - I adjust the nestboxes so that the wind isn't blowing on there - if i know that it is going to be extremly cold i add a tarp over the aviary If you were to bring your outdoor birds in - they will have to adjust to the climate changes and vice versa - Just a questions how well did the clutches go with the Cabinet breeding within an avairy?? I tried this before and they ones in the cabinet were to busy worring about the free flight birds to actually breed : (

  16. You also need to remember How did we all start learning with pets - We were either Told, or we researched Firstly she is feeding PELLETS and not seed So she has been ill informed from the start - The fact that they left PELLETS in there with poo all over it and lack of fruit and veggies the fact that one wing is clipped and GRIT ....totally been feed the wrong information - So really it isn't their fault, and we need to think how would be feel if someone came and took our Pet away - The only way I can see any good come out of this is : Firstly Supply them with the correct information, Give them a copy of our website, a copy of how to care for budgies ( FAQ) also the Budgie First Aid kit also in FAQ's That way they are armed with the correct information - and you have done all that you can . We can not go around asking people to give us their pets just because we know how to look after them . We are better off teaching them the right way to care and treat pets rather so that they too can enjoy their pet and not just jave a pet ...
  17. If you can hand raise them and know how to crop feed, Then you can take it out of the box 1 week earlier. However I recommend waiting until it has fledged. You will notice to, the more time you spend with the chicks in the nest box the more they become use to you and the taming process is also alot quicker ...
  18. Agree with Liv on that one - Also some sexes can be estimated on the mutation of the parents But not all so a picture of the babies cere is a must

Great Job, on the siggy and Avartar -
  21. Av, I am glad that you were able to talk to the family about the health and HOW TO CARE OF A BUDGIE : However I am a bit concerned - Some people care of their pets and some people just have pets - But it is not up to you how people maintain their pets - I am happy that you were able to treat him, But as for checking up on the bird - If i was that women, you wouldn't walk through my doors - Please do not take this to heart, We here all love our birds and others and hate to see them in bad health and care, However sometimes we need to mind our own business If you have concerns for the health or well being of animals that is what RSPCA is for ... Please again do not take offence to this it is just my opinion - You could always print out a flyer and put it into their letter box
