Bugs And Echo
You have some nice chicks there. If they get hungry they should be old enough to start feeding themselves anyway.

I’ve Stopped Buying Birds:
Pie it's true don't you believe me?...well I'm trying hard & after this result, maybe I'll get stronger. Yeah it looked a nice bird I couldn't believe my luck finding such a nice looking bird to increase my TCB blood but it was not to be...win some loose some...

I’ve Stopped Buying Birds:
Well I had some back luck that TCB that I bought last week was dead on the floor of its cage this morning. It was such a nice Yellow colour on it’s breast, but it was a heavy breather & didn’t have a ring [maybe it was cut off] so it might have been an old bird, I guess that’s the chances you take when you buy birds.

New News
Good luck Zebra, I hope the cast comes off first.

I’ve Stopped Buying Birds:
Throwback I really like that hen that you picked up, I hope you have success with her. Liv I hope those eggs are fertile.

I’ve Stopped Buying Birds:
Thanks guys...yes Throwback I understand what you mean I have bought a few birds from pet shops that looked good & also from breeders & soon found out why...as never got an egg or fertile egg out of them...we can only but hope. [sigh]. No wonder Nicknack you took all the CAKE!!!

I’ve Stopped Buying Birds:
Yes I agree Liv, yes your Spangle is really nice too, I saw him before.

I’ve Stopped Buying Birds:
I checked the local pet shop out while in town yesterday [as usual] & to my surprise they had quite a good looking male Texas Clearbody…so guess what... I bought it for some new blood…it looks similar to some of my birds I bought & bred this year & probably is related in some way, but probably not as close as the birds I have. One of the best breeders of TCB's lives in the next town, so probably came from that source in some way. What do you think?

Breeding Early 2008.... With Updates
Yes we are still reading...good luck Dave. Soon you will have chicks all over the place, like I am at the moment I only have a couple of pairs breeding now so no spare batches to foster to & have nests of 7 or 8 which I prefer to avoid, but I have no choice.

Remove All Branches!
As others have said it is just a freak accident, I always hang my branches upside down, I hook one forked branch over a perch, which means all the branches are hanging downwards, which might help.

New News
Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad to hear from you. Good luck with getting on top of those mice, it’s a constant battle.

Two New Hens
Spectacular hens Kaz, I love them both & their colours…lets hope they perform in the cabinets. Good luck. Maybe the first one would be the best match for that Grey cock, as it’s “blow” [height from the cere to the top of the head] is greater, whereas the other hens head is very similar to the cock & being sisters they should be similar genetically, so to try for that extra height might be good. What do you think Kaz? Anyway that’s my thoughts on them.

Smart Idea To Keep Branches Fresh
That’s only an issue when you keep only a few birds, the branches don’t last long enough in my aviary for that to be necessary. They are totally stripped in a few hours.

My French Moult Friend
Are you sure it's only sugar your high on??? Remember to make sure you have a cage big enough to house all the Budgies that you wish to keep...with perches each end & plenty of room for them to fly to get excercise...for the number you sound like you require I think building the avairy will keep you out of trouble for the next few years before you think of going off to collect them... Better stay at home...eat plenty of cake...& get busy... :(Laughing out loud): ...greetings from OZ...

2008 Breeding
I fostered the young to a pair in an aviary, but there was still their last batch of young with them [which I have found is very dangerous] they seem to be especially aggressive to other birds. They should be removed as soon as possible after fledging. Dave I hoped no one was going to ask that question.

2008 Budgie Pics
Great looking birds Throwback…strange how the people in the East want the birds from the West & the ones in the West want the ones in the East & some guy from Canada wants them all…just as well they locked him up…He… He… He.
