  1. Shame the picture turned out fuzzy, as a few did. I played around with the camera to get the best shots, without the flash. might need to work on that. Deb, here is Mozzarella, brother to your 4, and another of Geo. Geo is actually moulting and it seems that he green feathers (she is a yellow faced type 2 sky blue) are being replaced with blue feathers. I always thought it went the other way. Mozzarella Geo
  2. It has been a little while since I did an update, so I thought I would show some pics of my birds. Some young ones are going through their first moult now, so some colours are changing. King and 1st among Budgies - Humphrey Nibbler Athena and Aphrodite Venus Sunshine Oscar Wilde Pegasis - the bird who injured her leg and almost lost her foot - perching well, although she always looked fluffed, on the right of Baldr (son of Nibbler) going through his first moult Sif and Gabrielle Gwenivieve Heimdall Slate, Boof and Humphrey Ozzie Geo tail surfing Tam and Sebby Edmund Hugo and Kids Angel Group shots
  3. If you already have 2 colours, then go red left leg, red right leg, green left leg, green right leg, unringed
  4. Sorry to hear about the fighting. When I read this post's title, I thought - NO, Laverne!!!!!!!! Slight relief, but still not good
  5. I know that the Hills Auction was on today. Did anyone go? And if you did, did you buy anything? What were the prices like?
  6. very cute little ones Maesie. You keeping them all or looking for good homes?
  7. that is a small cage for 4 birds. How much time do they get out of that cage? I know that they are pet size and it seems large, but is there really room to fly?

Hi there and welcome to the board.
  9. Thanks Deb. It will be interesting to see Laverne's final colouring. Shame really as I liked her as the purple budgie
  10. I am so pleased to hear they are doing well. As i was reading your post I was wondering how they were, espcially Laverne and the oldest boy. did you call him Abbott? I forget now. I was very close to keeping him but changed my mind at the last minute. I handled him more than any of the others. i am eager for the pics
  11. Great looking birds Kaz. You are right about that show breeder friend of yours, he does take care of you. Great looking birds.
  12. Great news Jenene. Don't be too hard on yourself Deb, this is not your fault. I know what it is like. I lost 4 young in the nestbox this year, and if little Gabrielle (Pale Ale) had died I am sure I might have thrown the towel in too. Feather plucking is not your fault. We can all tell by the lengths you go to that you have a big heart. Anyone who has ever met you knows that. Do not be discouraged.

That teddy bear picture is the cutest thing I have ever seen Deb. Definitely a good entry for budgie of the month. it would win my vote if I had any power to vote
  14. Sounds to me that this guy is an over-opinionated loser who has no knowledge but thinks himself an expert.
  15. Any chance you can fly over and help me with my laundry tiling Kaz?
  16. very cute Kaz, as always
  17. Anyone in NSW know a stockist for the Golden Cob seed mentioend above?
  18. Never had an issue - had a 200GB one for 3 years or so. Use some at school as well. I am an IT teacher, so I encounter or hear about problems a lot. never heard about the problem you have had though.
  19. thanks for putting that link in there Maesie. Derek, thanks for the info on the boxes and the photo. it is of great assistance.
  20. Looking forward to seeing more pics Kaz. Great to hear your daughter has gone home, so she is obviouly on the mend.
  21. typo - she meant rinse them
  22. Friends is an interesting term here Deb. I did not know bronwyn and her other half before they messaged me on this board. They told me their situation and said that after reading my posts and about Ozzie (who i also rehomed) would I take Tam and Edmund. I agreed then and there. I did not ever meet Bronwyn until they dropped off the birds.
  23. What can I say Angelic Vampyre - I have a beautiful soul in a horrible body!!!
  24. Melbournebudgies, I thought about that. The concern is that the further the screw goes in, the better the chance of the dowel splitting, so I m evaluating this at the moment. I thought about also getting some little hook-screws. I can screw them in and they will hook over the horizontal wire on the cage, therefore not moving. I did not use one so far as I did not have any - which is surprising as my garage is like a smaller version of Bunnings.
  25. That is my plan. I have not had a good look at it yet, but it cannot be too tricky to attach a normal nestbox
