Dead In Shell?
A dead in shell chick causes the outside shell to become stained. You said 3-4 weeks too..........if you are that unsure of the dates you should have never opened one of the eggs. Each egg takes 18-21 days from point of incubation, so if one or two of the eggs are overdue the others may not be. Fertile eggs appear as a solid white look where an infertile eggs appears peachy coloured. Learning what to look for and candle is a real good idea. Eggs can become dead in shell by being knocked all around in the nesting box, by hens getting off their eggs for too long, by hens being frightened by lightning and thunder, by chicks just dying partway through incubation due to inherited illnesses or lack of something vital. No seed ? Just pellets ? If you are only using pellets I question the belief in full nutrition

Breeding Through Summer
Budgies will breed all year long if you let them. Unlike most parrots and canaries and finches..........budgies dont keep set breeding seasons.

Breeding Through Summer
Whether or not you choose to breed through summer depends on you having a proper breeding room with aircoolers or aircon to make the budgies life easier...................otherwise you are condemning them to quite a few weeks in a hot nestbox. One week to possible first eggs, another 10-14 days for a clutch, around 3 weeks for incubation, and another 4 weeks or more for babies before fledging. If you are going to breed with no cooling expect, french moult, abandoned nests etc as conditions encourage this sort of thing. So..........do you have ideal conditions for summer breeding ? Correcting you because you are wrong Sorry. Budgies will breed all year round if conditions are right

What Are We ?
Couple more guesses ?

Wheezing Bird
Could be thyroid issues. I would be inclined to cage him up for awhile and administer iodine in his water and see if it makes a difference. Since you would be onto it quickly if you thought it was a respiratory problem I have discounted that possibility

Budgie Pairing
The hen going in the box sounds promising and even though we try we rarely get to see mating........it usually happens before most people get out of bed. Could you post some photos of the ceres please ? so we can see if they seem in condition. Bear in mind that a so called dark chocolate cere is more often past breeding condition than being ready to go. A lot of info out there and some here too...........shows dark ceres as being right for breeding for hens when lighter to medium brown is more what's aimed for. in most places too its moulting season to look for signs of imminent moulting as you dont want to be breeding with any moulting birds either.

What Ages Are My 2 New Birds?
Forget that thing. its one of the most misleading bits of info about budgies on the net today.

What Ages Are My 2 New Birds?
Legrings in australia come out in Septemeber of the year before the ring year on the birds. For one of your to have a blue and purple ring on it the breeder doublke rung those chicks.....later he would have decided which ones to keep and which rings to cut off. Rings coming out in September makes a bird not exactly the age you think it will be. This bird wearing a 2010 ring could have hatched anywhere between Sept 2009 and just prior to sept 2010. This bird would have hatched more likely september 2010.....hence the breeder decided to hedge his bets and put both his previous years blue rings on and the new purple ones too. That bent line you see is a code each state has against the year number.......some states have a diamond shape and then the number, some a triangle, some a dash....etc. The breeders code is the LW part and the number next to that is the birds code. The CDB is the code for the budgie club.

Lutino Lacewing With Green Tail
Well it isnt a lacewing thats for sure its entirely possible if the eyes are red that you may have some fallow in the mix. I once had a red eyed chick who turned out to have fallow and recessive pieds mixing up the gene pool and the results were very confusing See what some others have to say

Lutino Lacewing With Green Tail
Are you confused ? A lacewing is one thing a lutino is another. Lacewings have red eyes, yellow or white feathers and cinnamon markings. and the first three babies are NOT lacewings This one what is the actual colour of the tail ? If its a lacewing the tail will be cinnamon brown. The tail doesnt appear to be......unless the photo is bad ?
