Hi, I'm New To This Forum
Hi, its nice to be welcome, the bird in question is a greywing, not a clearwing. One photo shows quite clearly the tail and the quill is dark grey which means she is greywing. A clearwing has a neutral tail quill. Hope that clears it up for you. Clearwing Really good information about the tail quill......many thanks :fear

Clearwing Or Greywing?

Budgie Stuck In Bars
agreed. Your cage is an issue. the bars are about a 12mm apart 12 mm is right for a budgie cage....Your budgie must have a real tiny head or there must be wider gaps somewhere on the cage. Pictures please ? just measured it with a ruler (my perception of lenght is rubbish) and it was actually 2cm. currently looking for a new one now. its actually quite difficult to find a good quality cage that a budgie would like. its ridiculous that people are selling cages that arnt good for budgies. The best cage for a budgie is a wider rather than a taller one, set up so they can fly across the cage. Here is a cage article we did here http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=17858 and the better of any cages for a budgie would be this one http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r145/ka...ame/cage1-1.jpg but adjusted so the perches go front to back on each side of the cage so the budgie can fly across the cage.

Rabbit And Guinea Pig Pellets For Budgies ?
Had to go and buy more rabbit/guinea pig pellets.........now the adults are eating as many as the babies....they all love them :emoticon112: There are rabbit pellets and there are rabbit pellets though. Saw some at a more local petfood supplier and they looked awful, smelt awful and had a glossy fatty sheen to them like they were "waterproof" ....I asked and they were a different manufacturer. I didnt buy them....went further afield and bought the ones the budgies like

Omelette.....my Foundation Hen
The better babies Omelette has ever produced have been the cocks PS she stopped laying at 4 eggs and after a few more days rest she has gone out into the aviary...she seems to be having fun in there too. AND her cere is now colouring up into "breeding condition"

What Happens To Budgies In Pet Shops If They Are Not Sold?
As far as I can tell, there is only one club here. It is for all caged bird species, not just budgies. And I don't think there are any "shows" like you guys have, just what they call "bird fairs" where they have a lot of vendors' tables set up and also breeders have tables with cages of their various babies/adults for sale. The club here holds 3 of these per year, and some of the breeders I have found will use this as a way to stock up on their seed in bulk for the year. (With more birds, I am considering doing this, too.) I've been to the American Budgerigar Society website, and it is obvious that there is a serious side to the fancy in the U.S. But I just don't think it finds it's way to the more northern states. Indiana Budgerigar Society 3170 898-8394 317-359-5341 Man, you are good! Amateur super sleuth :cake: Well, since you did the leg-work, I'll make the call! :hb: (I fear we are getting a little off topic here. :hb: ) This whole topic has slid off topic

New Budgie Owner
Thanks for your response. The legring is green. From reading a little more on the forum does that not mean he is about 3? The code is WA JL 9 (either a sideways 47 or sideways triangle 7) 063 Triangle 7 means he is a 2007 bird as does the colour of the legring. JL9 means he is a John Patterson bred bird...its handy to have a W.A. ring registrar on BBC ( ME :hb: ) John Patterson is a very nice man

New Budgie Owner
Hi and welcome :cake: Your budgie on the left is a recessive pied. The one on the right is a double factor spangle male and has been bred for showing. Are you sure his legring is blue ? It looks green. Please read off the code on it and post here and we may be able to help you find out about the breeder.

Clarification Please?
