  7. I have maybe very silly question, but I cannot stop thinking about it . How did it start with budgies being other colors then normal green? I don't get it, how could someone breed other colors from normals I guess it's the same with all animals, but it just doesn't make sense to me

So you don't think there are kinds that are designed just for decorating homes? I'm just worried if they wouldn't be different somehow . I'll definatelly ask them about the spraying...

I think I've already asked before :rip: , but I've just found the list of the kinds on the internet. Does anyone know the latin names for the kinds of eucalyptus you feed? (there are even the common names) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Eucalyptus_species Please I'm trying to get some for my birds, but I'm afraid to buy something that is for decoration only Thanks a lot
  13. Wow, I would buy it !!! Can't you rent a car with a trailer? I've paid more just for the frame here :rip: I wish I could buy second hand aviary here, I can only buy a new one (this size would be like $2000 )

Roxy is very cute and I also love the teddy bear picture . I'm sorry about Tiny :rip:
  16. My hubby is just like that :rip: . Every Friday he tells me all the things he wants to fix on the house through the weekend and then he ends up watching Tv or sitting at his computer. I've asked him many times not to tell me the plans and rather DO it !!! But NO, he still plans and plans,....and nothing is happening Luckily our wedding was very simple, so I could organize most things by myself :rip: Good luck with the suit

Thanks They love it - it's raining now, so I've opened the part of the roof so they can have a morning shower :rip: Norm, they were quite hot yesterday, so I've sprayed them and they have a pool on the bottom. I hope they will be okay. It should be cooler now - hopefully.
  18. Benny today (2 months, 2 weeks and 3 days ) and doggies It's really hot weather here - about 35 C degree today. Benny wants to drink all the time and cries a lot . I've sprayed the birds as they are not used to being outside, and they have a bath, I hope they'll be okay
  19. Congratulations Pie He is gorgeous

Hi everybody We have finally finished the outside aviary and moved the birds We took much longer than we planed, as we don't have much time anymore. Mark (my husband) is very busy at work the last couple of months and I take care of baby Benny, as he doesn't like to be left alone It's not exactly the way I'd like it - Mark wanted to use some of the glass (the frame is a glass house), so he doesn't have so much work with the wire and save money . I hope it's going to be okay, I'm hoping to replace it, but probably not too soon That's the main thing I don't like, but at least the roof is also covered with plastic roofing, so it shouldn't break . And the glass is "milky", so they shouldn't hit it. I thought it would get too hot inside, as glass houses are designed for that, but Mark said that if there is mesh and not all the glass, it doesn't work as a glass house - so I hope he is right  Anyway here are some pics, it's still much better then the aviaries before . It's about 3 m long, 2,5 m wide and 1,8 m tall, we've build a safety door on the inside as it was easier, so we had to take some of their space away . There is 22 budgies (I've lost some due to mice , also my non flying baby Mayo. He died when I was in the hospital giving birth ) and 4 tiels. They seem to be okay together, and I'm not breeding, so I think they will be fine. I still have to give them their toys and natural branches (we only have an old apple tree and the rest is not good for birds, so I will get some pine somewhere ) I forgot to take a picture of the sleeping area - it's next to the safety door in the back, I'll take a picture later The safety door Part of the roof can be opened for a rain shower Benny waiting for mummy while she is feeding the birdies
  21. Hi, I just thought I could update Benny's pictures, so here they are He smiles a lot and he is really good boy Hope you all are well
  22. Thank you all It's from a hypermarket, nothing too special, but it's cool isn't it I hope I will come more often, when the first 6 weeks ends. They say that's the worst :hap: . But I'm not too naive that it will get easy just like that By the way Benny is 1 month old today. The time is just flying And today Benny got a card from his great grandfather who lives in New Zeland, I've never met him and didn't really know we've got him . So we have family so close to you guys - the world is small Just two more pics These I took to thank aunty and uncle for the teddy bears
  23. Hello :hap: I don't get much time to come here now, but I thought I'd say hello and post some pics :hap: Benny with picture of his mum :hap: Benny plaing
