  1. Nice photos
  2. Thanks a lot Lin
  3. I'm planning to get a new budgie soon. How long do you keep them in a quarantine cage? And what should I look at to see if the budgie is okay and ready to meet the rest? Thanks
  4. :hap: The babies are very cute
  5. They look cute . I wish my budgies would eat broccoli :hap:

He is very handsome , beautiful colour !!!
  7. Thanks a lot to all of you. The youngest one is almost ready to go out (the whole day he is sitting in the hole of the box), just a couple of more days I think. When he eats on his own and staff, I'll remove the box with the egg. Every day I put the two older ones to the new cage just for a while to get used to it and they have more space to practise flying, etc. . They love it - Mayo (the one with shorter wings) has problems a bit, but he is trying hard. His sister climbed to the top and he is trying to work out how she got there :hap: . I'm still watching them, if they need some help. He won't probably be able to fly like the others, but he looks like he could be able to fly/jump from perch to perch, I'm hoping
  8. The male was attacking the chicks, so I've separated him (about a month ago), so they couldn't mate since then. He is in a cage under them - feeding them through the bars sometimes. I'm waiting for the last chick to leave the nesting box and then I want to remove the box. The hen looks quite tired, so I think it would be better for her to rest now. Do you think the youngest chick is going to be okay? I'm not sure if she is feeding him.

I've cut a rope in half and threaded one through the other one. Then I've used shakkles to hang it on the top of the cage
  11. The youngest one is still in the box, so I'll rather wait. Thanks for your advice
  12. Please can you help me? My hen has had 3 chicks which are almost leaving the box (just the youngest one is still in), but the hen has layed a new egg today (the male is not in the same cage, so it can't be fertile). Does it mean, she will stop feeding the chicks (the two older ones can eat on their own, but the small one can't I think)? Should I remove the egg or leave it in? I could see one of the chicks feeding the small one, but the hen chases him away. I'll be happy for any advice

Ooh I didn't think about that - I'll do it . Thanks Bea
  17. I would like to ask you about moving my budgies to their new bigger cage. I was going to wait till the chicks leave the nesting box. But I'm worried that there is not much space in the small old cage. The biggest chick goes out every day now, but spends time on the bottom of the cage and not trying to stand on perches (Mayo, the one with missing toes and shorter wings). And the dad is separated in a cage under them, so he feeds the mum and Mayo through the bars. So if I keep the dad separated and move the chicks and the mum, he can't feed them . - Could I actually move the nesting box to the new cage? Or could the mum stop feeding them (from shock or something)? - Do you think the dad will still attack the chicks, when they're big now and he was feeding one of them (the oldest one is 34 days old)? - And do you think Mayo could learn how to climb/sit on perches/fly (maybe) easier in a bigger cage? I'm really worried about all this, but I think it would be better for them to be together in a big cage Please can anyone help?

I've made some swings and perches yesterday. What do you think ? I would like to make some more, I just don't have any good ideas at the moment

I've read that budgies can eat celery, but we have more kinds of celery here. Is this the one budgies can eat? Thanks for help
  20. I've taken closer pictures of Mayo's wings (he didn't let me to open them, he was pulling them back and I wasn't sure if I wouldn't hurt him). I hope you can see it better I think here are some flight feathers, but not sure
  21. I'll try to take a photo if he lets me . He is the oldest one and the others have them, so I don't think they will grow later . But maybe he will be able to fly a bit.

I think it's very nice of you, that you've saved the ponnies (I love horses too ) I like all 3 cages, but I think it's much better and cheaper to build a wooden one (you can make it the way you want)!!! I think I would buy a breeding cage and built a big flying cage

Thats nice cage, I think it's big enough for 4 and few more budgies There are nice cages on this server too : http://www.birdcages4less.com/ or http://www.ebay.ca/
