Lovey, Thanks for sharing this with us. Pretty was a huge part of our BBC community and he will be missed. I'm still in shock every time I see the thread telling us he passed. I hope you and your family are well. How did the kids take it? I'm so glad you had a positive experiences with the avian vet and that Merlin appears to be okay. I think he has given you some great advice. Let me know how the pellet conversion works out. I really would like my gang to have pellets. I do buy a seed mix that has some pellets in it, but usually they are tossed to the bottom of the cage. Perhaps I can get the babies eating pellets. Thanks again for sharing with us.

Looks like a mauve recessive pied to me. Nice looking!

Just wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to deal with the poop that is getting caked on the "knees" of the baby budgies. I've been checking their beaks and they seem okay. The feet are pretty good too. It's just the legs. Is this something I even need to worry about? I think it would be stressful on them if I tried to remove it, and if it wo't do any harm I'll leave it. Thoughts or suggestions anyone? Thanks!

Paul, I have a creamino hen. The cere never gets dark brown, but it certainly turns beige and gets crusty.

I hope your little guy gets well soon. Seems like it isn't a good idea to change his diet while he is battling something like pneumonia. I would gradually wean him off those things once he is feeling better. You can try introducing the extras now but keep what he normally eats available too. Then when he is well get rid of the seed treats.
