Could An Untamed And A Tamed Budgie Go In The Same Cage?
That is true. I am not really sure what to do. Because I feel that budgies shoule also be with their own kind, but I also still want to be able to handle her like I do now. I am not sure what to do. Of course my suggestion is get another budgie and tame that one too :ausb:, but I am not sure what the "right" thing to do is.

New Budgie!
I took her out a little and put her on her playpen thing with bars and swings. She seems to be really tame, the only time she tried to get away was when she saw her cage and got back in it. I will take pictures tomorrow she is sleeping now.

Could An Untamed And A Tamed Budgie Go In The Same Cage?
Hey all, I have a new female (or thats what I think) baby budgie, that is hand tamed, and about a couple months old. I also have another female budgie that is not tamed, and is about 3 and a half years old. I was wondering if after the quarentine and a few weeks of them sitting next to eachother in seperate cages, could they go into the same cage? Would the younger budgie become untame? Will the older budgie bully her around? Would anything happen that I should be aware of?

New Budgie!
yeah Echo is an awesome name. I dont know if I should do this yet, but do you think I could take her out for a little today? To get pics and play with her?

Lack Of Feathers After She Jumped In Water
I thought the wings were cut wrong because it seemed the guy cut too many of the feathers, but I guess if that was the case she would fall to the floor like a rock. The line it wasnt like that. I have never seen it before. She was wet and some of th feathers parted because of that, and there was a spot where there were no feathers, and you could just see her skin. I dont think it was anything to worry about though, she will probably grow them back, and you cant see it anymore.

New Budgie!
I think then I like the name Echo for her. I am not good at creative names. Yeah the pattern is hard to tell, but I am liking what I am hearing from all of you, so in a couple days I will get her out of the cage and get some better pictures

Lack Of Feathers After She Jumped In Water
Yeah I need to learn how to clip wings, but I get too nervous I will do it wrong. I just need to watch some more people do it before I attempt. Yeah she lets me hold her, she will stand on my shoulder too, she will occasionall bite when I pick her up. I really havent tried to touch her much, because she is still adjusting to her new home. But maybe a little later I can take her out for 5 minutes or so, and check really quick.

Lack Of Feathers After She Jumped In Water
What I think happend was he might have cut too many of the feathers. She seems to be doing fine so I wont worry about it, and just wait for them to grow back. Thanks for the picture you have two really nice budgies.

Lack Of Feathers After She Jumped In Water
okay that is good to hear. I think I just over reacted when I saw the bare line in the middle of her stomach. And I didnt want to leave her wet because I didnt want any illness to occur. For the most part she is dry and the line is gone, and feathers are covering it. Except towards the bottom is a little wet. Also does anyone have a picture of a budgies with its wings clipped? For some reason I think the person cut them wrong. It looks like they cut them too far, but I guess I would be seeing some type of behavior that would indicate that her wings hurt of something. So I think it is okay

Lack Of Feathers After She Jumped In Water
Hey all, I have got a new budgie, just a minute ago she was in her water cup, once she got out her stomach was wet, I noticed that there is a line of bareness with no feathers just skin, in the middle of her stomach. It is not that big, but what also worries me is she is not really preening her self as she did this she is just sitting. She is somewhat wet. I was thinking of gettting her myself and drying her off to prevent a cold or something. Right now it is pretty hot so I thought she would be okay for a second being wet. I covered her cage halfway for now. What should I do?

New Budgie!
okay cool thanks. The first site you gave me was the one I was talking aboutm, I was just drawing a blank. In a few days I will post some more pics, and by that time or maybe a little later she will be out of the cage, so it will be easier to get pics. To me she is looking like a female after I read a few things, so these are the names I am thinking of: Sherbert, Tango, Athena, Bam Bam not really a girl name, Echo, Emerald, Kanoni (African for little bird), Tweety, Nova, Rhianna, Cirus, Sirius, Skittles (since she has a couple colors, and skittles the colors of the rainbow). I got some of these from a naming site. I cant come up with anything else, but I really like Echo, because its a cool name, and even if she turns out to be a male it doesnt really matter. What do you think?

New Budgie!
Thats what I was going to say, but I had to get one last one, she is covered up and I think sleeping now. Someone on here had a really good website that had a lot of pics on how to tell male or female, I just dont remember what it was called, or who had it.

New Budgie!
She/he says: "gosh cant you just leave me alone?" hehe trying to sleep eyes half open half closed http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a94/hops523/000_0553.jpg this last picture is the clearest, and its not even of the cere :ausb:. I guess I have to remember how I did this one.

New Budgie!
Yeah I was just thinking that mine looks like bea's. Wow thanks for all the names that is a lot. I will be right back I am going to get a better picture. One sec I cannot really get a good picture, but I can try to explain the ceres look. It is pink/purple color with blue on the edges, and there are white circles around the nostrils. Is there anyone who could tell me the color from the pics? Also what method do you all use to tame young budgies? I put my hand in the cage and move it towards him/her and he/she will stand on there sometimes. I also have taken him/her out and just held it. She sometimes squaks but not really, and she tries to get away a little, and bites when I first get her. Well not really bite, but nip a little.

New Budgie!
Hey all, I finally picked up my new budgie today?he/she does not have a name yet, any suggestions? It is hard to tell from the pictures, but do you think someone can tell me what the color mutation might be? Sorry for the bad picture quality. I cannot tell if this is a male of female either, a little later I will try to get a close up of the cere. I forgot how to tell if a pied is a male or female, how do you do that? http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a94/hops523/000_0537.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a94/hops523/000_0534.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a94/hops523/000_0533.jpg Moderator’s Message to user pictures changed to links due to over sizing

Getting A New Budgie Soon
ugh, okay well I have to go tomorrow instead of today. I will get there early, so the new bird and I can have the whole day together. I guess this will give me a chance to make everything look more comfortable, or I guess appealing to the bird. Its going to be a long day (Laughing out loud), but I can wait.

Getting A New Budgie Soon

Getting A New Budgie Soon
Hey all, I am going to be getting a new budgie soon, this will be my third. I called the breeder and they said that they had some young already hand tamed birds. They told me that they had albinos. What does albino exactly mean in budgies? Does it mean yellow with red eyes, or white with red eyes, or does it mean they can be both? Oh and they also said they have one yellow. I thought this would be all yellow with black eyes, but now that I am thinking that it might just mean the common green and yellow, but I am not sure

Hand Feed Or Let Parents Raise Them?
okay yeah its a normal cage, but I made sure it was big enough, how are you setting up your nest box? Oh and how should I introduce the pair into the cage?
-
Hand Feed Or Let Parents Raise Them?
okay thanks for the info, I know how to hand feed them just incase something goes wrong. Yeah I will try to get it in their some how. The only reason I ask if it matters if they are tame or not is because if I have to set the nest inside the cage then they probably wouldnt let me check on the babies, or anything like that. So how should I do that? I heard that they become alot more calm around the babies

Hand Feed Or Let Parents Raise Them?
Hey all, I have taken alot of time to study on how to breed budgies. I think I am ready now. I just wanted to how some of you raise your baby budgies. Do you take the eggs out after they are laid, or do you let the parents feed them? Which would be easier for a beginner? Also I never really got this, how do you hang the nest box on the outside of the cage so you can check on the eggs or take them out if you have to? And last question this pair is not tame, will that affect anything? Thanks all
