The flit noise sounds normal. They stretch from what I understand because they are 1. nervous or 2. getting ready for flight. I find mine do it when I first start talking to them. Maybe they are stretching in case they need to fly from me (Laughing out loud). She is trying to feed the mirror and she may not regurgitate food yet but don't be surprised .
  9. I correct myself because I see that he has color on his flights? Correct? Hurdy is right when I read his post I relooked and I looked to fast assuming because of the markings.
  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budgerigar Modern show budgerigars, also called English budgerigars, are larger than their wild cousins, with puffy head feathers, giving them an exaggerated look. For information only
  11. He looks like a YF2 dilute mauve? If you could take or post more pics of him that are just a bit clearer without flash that would help

I am sure a more experience person will come along but let me just add a few points. 1 If you want to know who's the babies are yes then you need to separate because you will want certain results. 2. Males may compete for the hen's attention and there can be squabbles. 3. If the babies are born a male that is not caring for the babies could attack the babies and kill them so he can then bred with the hen For what I have read (and I don't breed) I believe it is always best to separate unless you are an experienced at aviary style breeding and even then you can never forsee what may happen. Just closed breeding brings possible issues, such as if the parents refuse to feed the baby can you hand feed every 3 hours, what if one of the parents attacks a baby, if they get sick can you afford to vet them...of course there are always positives too :-). Either way I wish you the best in your research, learning and more in becoming a responsible breeder.
