  4. Yes a lutino is a sex-linked gene if it a lutino it would mean that the cock is split to lutino and this chick would be a hen.
  5. okay, I am confused the first pair is a blue series bird? Grey is a blue series bird. Does that go with the baby is a yf blue? That would mean that your grey boy is not a double factor grey but a single factor, so yes I guess you can say split to blue but it is a blue series bird so really not the correct wording. Gray factor is a color-adding factor. If a budgie has a grey factor, the color grey is added to the budgie's original body color. The grey factor is very strong and overrides the underlying color. Normal yellow-based budgies with a grey factor will be a grey-green color. Normal white-based budgies with a grey factor will be a grey color. Basic Genetics: Grey factor - dominant Normal - recessive

  14. Any male bird is louder during the breeding season. Male birds including budgie males court by singing, dancing and doing antics to get the attention of the females, the louder the better because they get the most attention.

  16. Thanks Neat. Neville, I always understand the large spot (patch) on the back of the head was a dominant pied not recessive. Only the small spot was recessive.
