:hap: They are just clumps of grass i got from out bush so i cant really help with any information with them, other than they get really lush and green in the wet season (i live in the tropics) and after the grass seeds it dies back alot and looks rather yucky till the weather is just right the next wet season.. Im lucky that i can just get in the car and dig up a stray clump of grass out bush when its required Cheers  Una Oh i forgot to mention that teh birds DO shread it to pieces..
  9. Sorry for the late reply (i went for a drive) Umm Probiotic is a concentrated water soluble blend of live microbes which benefits the animal by improving the intestinal balance.. this might sound weird to give to your bird at a time like this but it can be used in periods of extreme stress eg: overcrowding, diarrhoea, temperature extremes, transportation, training, medication and following surgery. It is NOT to be used with antibiotics but can be used immediately following antibiotic treatment. I bought mine online from an online pet produce store but you should be able to purchase it at most good pet stores i'm sure, the container should give full directions on dosage rates etc... It can be used daily as a boost for their digestive systems to help keep them healthy, its water soluble so you make it up and give fresh daily :hap: Hope this helps you Cheers  Una

:hap: All my fingers etc are crossed and i hope the poor little mite is going to be okay.. Make sure you please keep us posted on his prognosis. Cheers  Una
  11. :hap: Oh i can imagine how you are feeling, id say just keep him fairly quiet and even cover him so he can rest. About a month ago, my husband stood on Apples tail feathers plucking 12 of them out.. I thought my world had fallen apart, of course Apple was fine and i did enough worry for us both to last a lifetime. I just kept an eye on Apple and made sure he didn't get stressed by anything, I also gave him some Probiotic to help him recover since the poor little mite had suffered some blood loss. I hope and i'm sure your little one will be okay, just make sure you keep us posted on how he is doing. Cheers  Una
  12. Another Video of my pair, this shows a typical Apple and Munchy Quiet time together Its a few minutes long (sorry) but i just couldn't possibly cut anymore of it out (Laughing out loud) Oh i nearly forgot to mention that if you listen to it hard you will pick up a few of his little farting noises that he does (Apple) and also he has this new thing for trying to say "Beep, Beep, Beep" Oh and he likes to sing and dance to himself although i'm not yet sure on exactly what he is singing :hap: http://media.putfile.com/BEEP-BEEP-BEEP- I almost feel sorry for Munchy Cheers  Una
  13. :hap: Heheeee Im getting quite excited with all these ideas, that site is great and HEAPS of easy ideas on there WHOHOOOO!
  14. :ausb: Glad to hear he is doing well, I cant wait to see pictures
  15. Cute bird on the top left of this page
  16. :ausb: Yeah lovey i will do a big shop up for different materials but i was just wanting to get an idea on some of the toys that other people have made and some of the supplies i may need to order. I prefer making my own toys as you can often shop in bulk for the supplies and its cheaper in the long run than buying a one off ready made toy.. I believe my budgies also prefer playing with the toys that i've made for them rather than ones i just buy and hang up for them, well considering they are there the whole time in the making process, trying to put in their little bit of input Cheers  Una
  17. Hehee, that was my first giggle of the morning Thanks :ausb:
  18. Beautiful birds. I envy them, I wish i could move into the aviary too.. Would i fit in the cage in the back of the ute? :ausb:
  19. Awwww thats so cute.. CONGRATULATIONS :hap:
  20. It was actually Munchy that got Apple interested in it, I just kinda chucked it on the floor and that was it. :hap: Munchy is a playful baby and plays with anything when he gets going, and as you know the number one Budgie rule is -Whats yours, Is MINE! so if Apple sees Munchy with it, he wants it
  21. :hap: Oh WOW.. Simply beautiful.. I'm now ALMOST inspired to go and do some extensions in my aviary Id never leave the aviary though if it was mine, and id ensure that i had a coffee machine in the food preparation area Look forward to seeing HEAPS more photos of both the aviarys and the happy birdies.. Cheers  Una
  22. Oh Lin he is such a cheeky little sausage Im going to get some still shots from that video i think of his face when he does his little close up shots :hap:
  23. :hap: yeah Apple mainly seems to get a lil excited over it
  24. Lin did you watch the video i just posted of Apple n Munchy playing with the camera? Apple gives a few glares down the lens at me (Laughing out loud)
  25. Hehee I can just imagine your budgie hanging upside down from his swing, The curtain ring and rope toys look way cool, i think i might try that Cheers  Una
