I know the cage is big enough but my friend says its because the bars are two wide so its more of a cockatiel cage. In a couple of days i'm going to the pet shop to see if they've got a better cage with better bars. got any ideas? Edited October 7, 2008 by pixi Link to comment

Here is an article on cages from our FAQ section http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...&artlang=en Link to comment

Do you have other birds that this bird can see? I have a hen that did this same thing. She could see the other birds and was in a cage by herself and was trying despritely to get out. Even in a parakeet cage she was able to get her head out at the top corner were the corners rounded out. He may calm down a bit. Let us know how you make out. Link to comment

If you can put your finger through the bars Then the bar spacing is too big Link to comment

A budgie cage should have spacing of around 1.2cm although a large budgie(show type) would be okay with 1.5cm Link to comment
