Posted February 28, 200619 yr Richard left me yesterday to go back to London so. Here I am, Richardless. I did gain two budgies out of the deal though. You've already met Pippin. Meet his probably-brother, Peregrine Took: Believe it or not, adding a sixth budgie was Richard's idea. I love the way he thinks. I can't have an uneven number of birds, you know! And now I'm pretty certain that I have three females and three males. Even is good, right? Here he is with Pippin. Pip's cere looks girlish in most pictures, but in person, the nostril rings are more light blue than white. I'm pretty sure he's a he and I hope I'm right. They love doing things together but Pippin if far more adventurous. Peregrine is content to sit on my finger and chill out, but Pip has to be moving somewhere. He loves shoulders and laptops. Peregrine loves...food. So, that makes six budgies and eight birds all together. I'm stopping there, I swear. I've almost caught up with you Rainbow, but I don't think I'm going to make it! Oh, and this is a bit off topic, but here are a couple of pictures of the engagement ring Richard got for me: It is a simple, traditional diamond solitaire. First piece of real jewelry I've owned. I'm not big on jewelry but obviously I love this ring! It means I have power over someone. :angel1:
February 28, 200619 yr Congratulations on everything !! The ring is elegant and the new boy is sooooo gorgeous too. Best of aussie luck to you
February 28, 200619 yr you're budgies are absolutely gorgeous! and so is the ring! its beautiful - you are very lucky!
February 28, 200619 yr they are sweet Terri, congrats the ring is gorgeous! I noticed that all your birds names start with a P, except for Mr. Molly, is that purposely done? I know people who do it with their kids too Edited February 28, 200619 yr by lovey
February 28, 200619 yr The P names started with my second parrot (Peru, the parrotlet). Piper was the first. And from there I just kept giving P names because they were so cute together. Mr. Molly came to me as "Molly" (they thought he was a girl). I renamed him to Phoenix but it just didn't fit. So he's Mr. Molly. So, now P names are reserved for budgies only. Pikachu is an honorary budgie but Mr. Molly is a human with feathers so he can get away with it.

Maxx is defintely a human with fur but that is off-topic and another story.
February 28, 200619 yr Wow! I love your ring! I love that it is so simple, and elegant. Great choice. Another bird Terri? I think Richard is bad for your self control :hap: :hap:
February 28, 200619 yr 2 budgies and a ring!!! That's a great guy you've got there! :(Laughing out loud):

I think Richard is bad for your self control :hap: :hap: Thanks, that's exactly what I thought of the ring too. He was going to let me pick one out but in the end, I wanted him to do all the work. It felt more special that way. And...what is this self control you speak of? Seriously, I can't have an odd number of budgies. It's just not right. 2 budgies and a ring!!! That's a great guy you've got there! :(Laughing out loud): I agree! (Laughing out loud)! Edited February 28, 200619 yr by eterri
March 1, 200619 yr  Beautiful budgies and beautiful ring, I love the simplicity of it, lots of diamonds gross me out and lets face it, not practical for us "bird" people! :budgiedance:
March 1, 200619 yr Hmmmm you do realise that you only need one more bird to catch me. Those birds are beautiful I cant wait to see them grow up. The ring is simply beautiful suits you great - am so happy for you and Richard - send him up to me for a visit if he brings birds hehe. Oh glad to know Mr Molly is being a brat and not just my Noo hehe!
March 1, 200619 yr You nave nine?? You need a tenth. Even numbers, Booms. Even numbers! Not to mention, you'll be caught up with Rainbow.
March 1, 200619 yr They are VERY pretty. I am surprised you got more birdies considering you future plans in the uk???
March 1, 200619 yr Those plans were scrapped sometime ago. We're filing for Richard to move to the US and are engaged to be married once that is taken care of. Otherwise, he wouldn't have even suggested adding to the flock.
March 2, 200619 yr Yep 9 six budgies and the 3 tiels, I could get a friend for Noo but he is being too much of a pain at the moment. I could maybe get a macaw or a Too or a - stop it grrrrrrr. It stays at 9 hehe.
March 2, 200619 yr What a beautiful ring. Congratulations again! Obviously Richard has no idea what he's getting into with all these birds....keep adding while you still can... Want more males??? I know where you can get a few, and you won't even have to tame them...
March 2, 200619 yr Thanks. Richard's so easygoing, hardly anything bothers him. I wish I had his tolerance/patience. He really enjoys the birds, especially Piper and Mr. Molly (who he spoiled while he was here!) So HOPEFULLY once he's around them full time they won't drive him nuts. Just gotta keep a certain destructive cockatiel away from his computery stuff.
