Thanks Rainbow its a real achievement Bobby is such a flighty bird and for him to be within inches of me without flying is such a joy - I will keep you posted on his progress.

Yeah they certainly are that - they were naughty little kids last night they were sat on top of the cage and kept pulling at pulling there swing off from the top so it fell to the floor and of course I picked it up and yep they did it again and again - was funny to watch though.
  8. Oh right I buy Trill - did you just plant it in compost - might try it.

I agree and I think because he also doesnt need to be caught to be put away anymore (he goes to bed all by himself) probably helps and maybe he is starting to think my hands are for good things now and not bedtime hehe!

Oh its is Julie I am really pleased with him he has been so hard to try and handle ever since I got him he seems to be getting better now he is housed with Candy because he is fairly tame - well when he wants to be of course hehe! Oh also Georgy my nearly 5 month old has just now started his first moult he is my bird that was underweight and bullied - I wonder if thats why he has started so late - anyway good news is that you can no longer see his keel bone protruding because he is getting a little fatty hehe!

Oh Bea I hope so I really am over the moon about it hehe he isnt finger tame or anything tame with me and for him to toddle over and eat from me was amazing its the closet Ive been to him oh except when Ive had to catch him when he wont go away but he even does that on his own now!

Yep thats right and while he was on top of his cage - he normally runs a mile but him and Candy were out and I thought I might try them with some cress. Candy came first as always and munched away while Bob sat in the background and then all of a sudden he came toddling over and sat and gobbled up the lot. I am really pleased and this could be my first step towards slightly taming him. Yay Yay!!
  15. Brave little dickies - cute pics Bea!
  16. Ooooh yeah pick me pick me hehe well not me personally my budgies!
  17. Nah thats okay Sparky no need to apologise and wish you all the luck with Sparky it might totally work for him hope it does - me on the other hand will keep on trying with Bobby if anything he is keeping me fit chasing him all around!
  18. Nooooooooooo wing clipping Sparky - I really dont want that plus it wouldnt be fair as he plays and flys with the other birds - maybe with sparky it may be the right thing to do as he is alone but I think Im gonna keep on trying. Good luck with Sparky!!

I would never clip anyof my birds wings tails or anything - I know its supposed to help taming but birds are meant to fly - could be also why I have 2 non tame birds hehehe!
  20. I wish it was that easy with Bobby - I have spent hours and hours trying to tame him I have tried everything I can think of yet he still wont have me anywhere near him - I think I just have to accept that this one just doesnt want to be tame.

Unless he is finger tame I dont think so - Im having awful trouble with Bobby I let him out and he goes straight in Candys cage and stays put only way I can get him back in his own cage is to pick him up and about 20 mins of trying to catch him first. Oh and I am practising finger taming he just doesnt want to know - Im not too bothered as I love to see him interact with Candy plus he is used to the picking up now and knows when its time for bed thats when he runs away from me in the tiniest of corners where I cant get him hehee!

Can they eat the whole flower Julie I havent tride any with mine yet but my garden is full of them at the moment - might wash a few up when I get home.
  23. Sorry that didn't make much sense - I meant you didn't just go and pick another from your aviary.
  24. Adam was just wondering - is Mickey one of your own bred budgies from your aviary or do you get your pet ones elsewhere?
  25. Hehehe could be too many late nights bed to early for a few nights is Georgy he has bags of energy for a skinny minnie!!
