Oh right maybe Im being paranoid then - Ive not weighed him I doubt he would stay still long enough to let me - maybe if I just hold it on the sweety treats for a few weeks just to see - I'll post a picture in the next day or so for some opinions - he is however moulting and his tummy feather are fluffy and scruffy could make him look fatter than he is.

He is porky I mean he doesnt have any lumps or bumps I feel him regularly he just seems overweight especially compared to the others but he has a sweet tooth but I would hate for him to get ill because I let him eat stuff that was making him fatty.

okay so Candy is getting porky and I need some help in how to slim him down. They were eating too many honey seed treats I think - so now all thats available is seed, celery, spinach, carrot and watercress - oh and 1 millet spray per week. Only thing is he shares with Bobby and I feel Im depriving him of stuff he doesnt gorge it in one go like Candy- any advice anyone?

Good Luck - I have the same problem with my Bobby although I spend hours trying to become his friend he just dont want to know - well unless its cress feeding time and he loves me - I will keep on trying with him but will probably have to accept he will never me a cuddly birdie.

Ive heard about the parrots and parakeets around the London area too. Anyone know if Bourkes Parakeets make good pets - they have some at Pets At Home this week.

Ive seen a few pictures cant remember where though I think the wild budgies are mostly green and yellow but dont quote me on that.

Oh where did it hit him did it retract and bounce on his head - isnt he a little tinker. Nice that Mickey tolerates him anyway.

Only Georgy bathes and he likes to bathe in his spinach too when Ive washed it, Patty hates being mist sprayed, Candy likes it and Bobby has yet to undergo this hehe!

Be great Andy if you can do it wish I could but I dont live in an area where I feel the outside birds would be safe.

Oh right wouldnt it still be cold when its down to below freezing in winter or can you buy heaters for them?

Wow lucky Andy good for you I dont really know much about aviarys but how do you keep them warm at night in this country?

Oh what a great idea - they are hard to find here with the tops on and my Dads crop are just finished I never thought to feed the leaves though I will know for the next seasons lot!

Oh I wash everything thoroughly and my dad doesnt use any pesticides on his outside crops!

Oooh I might try the local one when I pop out later on. My Dad grows a load of his own veg too might go round and steal some of his crops hehe.

More than likely he has been a tough little birdy and although he will never be fully tame Im proud of him for coming this far and especially the keel bone thing it was so prominent and now you cant see it even when he stands tall!

He is the only 1 of the 4 who will get in his bath and he is the most timid of the four although he will sit on your finger but only from certain perches or pictures he is sat on - weird eh?

Yeah I will give it a go tonight - they are mad on cress at the moment. Oh and Georgy makes me laugh I wash his spinach before giving to him and he bathes in the leaves when Ive clipped them in hehe!

Right me not rich enough for Sainsburys we have no Co-op and Tesco is miles away so a trip to Asda for celery tonight - could you imagine after all this and they dont like the stuff hehe.

Okey dokey celery leaf hunting I go on my way home - out of a matter of interest Julie which supermarket do you get yours from. Oh and will they eat teh stalks because I hate celery!

I want to try celery but the stuff in our supermarkets hardly have any leaves on just the stalks wonder if anyone knows where else I could get the leafy bits. Oh Bobby yet again ate cress from my hand he was in his cage this time so twice in a row!!
