  1. China is so beautiful! She's my fav.
  2. Could very well be, he hear's that several times daily. Could be "gotcha kissy" cause i say that to him when i'm trying to kiss his belly and i finally suceed - he leans away and tries to avoid embarrassing mummy kisses.
  3. The only say he says that i understand is kissy, i know he mumbles other stuff but i can't work it out.
  4. Dunno if you get this in other places but on Dr Harry years ago he said budgies were colour blind. :hap: I believed it for the longest time!
  5. Well the mouse has been his on again off again girlfriend for some time now - i think he likes her because she's blue like him. And Ozzie's war isn't helped by the fact that i'm always right there to flick the wobbly budgie back up when he tramples it!
  6. Here's a couple of pics i got yesterday of Stinker and Mozzie. Ozzie has been fighting a war against these irritating budgies who wont fall down ever since he's lived here. Blinkie is fascinated by this empty packet of nuts And when mean old mummy takes the nut packet away he goes and sulks by his latest girlfriend. And here's a little video of Blinkie playing with the nut packet - he liked the rustling sound it made when i scrunched it up.
  7. ((((hugs)))) I hope the new collar does the job. Is he going to the vets tomorrow?
  8. To me it looks like you have a df dominant pied male and a recessive pied female. Kirbs - aren't df spangles either all white or all yellow?
  9. I like the names!! :(Laughing out loud): I think you should use them.
  10. Blinkie was looking through this window and saw a very sexy budgie looking back at him - as sexy as himself i'd say!

When the canberra bushfires were happening i believe that i brought all the aviary budgies inside in a smallish cage that could be put in the car easily. Fires like that you usually get warning though. House fire i'm not sure as the aviary budgies probably wouldn't be affected (being outside and all) but the indoor ones would. If i had time i would stuff Cookie into Blink and Oz's old cage and Blink and Oz into my tiny hospital cage. If not i would do what i could to get them outside in the cages they are in now, it makes me sick to imagine the terror they would feel being trapped in a burning house in a cage with no escape.
  12. I thought the info was good - the info itself isn't anti-birds.

I don't actually know his gender for sure, he's only a baby so too early to visually tell. Animal planet of course - although he may have just picked that by mistake, he was more focused on trying to rip the buttons off.

Was playing around with dads camera, i hate it. It's better than mine but it's bigger and heavier and i can't get it to focus properly most of the time. Oh well, still got some cute pics!

Poor Pixel. Hopefully her Pika friend will keep her safe until she can see the vet. *big hugs* To you, you'll do your very best for her.
  16. Bobby, be a good boy and leave that bandage on!
  17. How come they have to go all the way to South Africa??? Seems insane when there are perfectly good avian vets and stuff in Australia.

How strange!! I'm not sure why his flights would be that short.
  19. Maybe add a neutral option for others with the same feelings?
  20. I didn't vote because there was no option for people who aren't interested generally but don't think of it as cruel breeding of mutated animals.

Love this picture. Too cute! I wonder why pet shops don't like greens, if i were budgie shopping i would try to get the youngest and friendliest one possible, even if it were "just a green".

Did you edit this photo? I just love how the two budgies and the perch are in focus but the rest looks like it's been blurred on purpose. I looks great.

What a terrible accident, i'm so sorry.
  24. It seems so long ago that i got Ozzie and tonight i thought Blinkie would like a little special time with his mummy. I was going to bring all the birdies into the shower with me but then i changed my mind and decided i easily owed Blink a little one-on-one time. I've not seen him so happy and chirpy during a shower for a long time. He spent the entire time hopping back and forth from his mirror perch to me, singing and yelling "kissy kiss" at the top of his voice. He was in a bathy mood which he's not been in for a while and rolled around on my shoulder under the water. He was just being a total sweetie. I think i should schedule some more Blinkie time from now on, we both enjoyed it so much. Here's a photo of His Royal Blinkiness with super cool spiked up hair after his shower. Do you ever stop and look at your little feathered babies and feel amazed at how much they touch our lives?
