She has Calcium cuttlebone and iodine in cage, i also put iodine or Vitamin stuff in their water and wheatgerm or codliver oil on their seeds at times. my cages get cleaned everyday or every second day! is she just waiting to lay? she sits puffed up in corner. I gave her some vitamin supplement (Multi-Aid) directly in her beak this morning and an hour ago. How To Hand Tame Baby Budgies In The Nest
any attempts to remove and feed these babies at earlier than 14 days will result in death!!!! Babie have to be fed 3 to 4 hourly at 7-14 days!!! YOU need a LOT OF time+dedication! Let the parents raise them till they are pin feathered, then you can touch them and remove them for box 15minutes at a time to tame!

Help! Birdy Drama!
My hens all get bloodied toes- its from fighting for the male! I change them around and isolate them in different couples and cages Best might be to put 2 jilted ones in a cage, and let them be in a seperate room, they will get used to each other and settle down,, might not mate but will settle. My tulip Lutino was sooooh against Pixieblue, she only fancied PoffPoff my show budgie but he was already bonded to Lilly my Albino so i forced her in a cage with Pixieblue and within a few days they settled down. They took a year to mate but gave me the most gorgeous lemons, white% lemon faces, one lemon with brown splash and a tiny tiny budgie \i call Peabut! and Peanut is my baby now and i put him alone to train him.He already does twirls for me and he is only 3 moths old! So hang in there

Rip Winston
Ag so sorry, which one is it on the photos? The Yellow+green one? They all look beautiful to me! How was he misformed? It might have just been he was bred from a large Dad and Small Mom.My Ino (Albino) and her Male Showbudgie's wings are so different! She is sleek & he's bulky. But they are all fine......... Sounds like he died of the change from known environment to a strange place- they starve themselves. Almost like a Canary? I read this in a Book written by a Budgierar!?????? Or the little heart was broken! They are sensitive little birds! Shame man sorry for your loss. RIP Winston!

Hi Everyone I'm New To Bbc
Thanks Nadine, so why have they died? Were they not fed? Were they too many? what is the reason for them dying? If you take 10 eggs and seven hatch, normally 3 eggs don't hatch, then the 2 youngest of the seven die. I intervened and took the 2 youngest ones out last time and I raised 1 by hand, the other 1 died-he looked very small and weak. But they die soon after hatching? like overnight? next day -dead>i am puzzled? How long MUST they be raised by Mom before they are safe to hand-rear? By the way thanks for the advice about the spraymillet& etc Nadine- I did it for her. Noticed only 2 eggs now and 1 looks cracked-not sure if its hatching or just cracked. I think the blighters are due this week so I am going to check in the morning again. They are all in the Aviary. I have some youngsters in a cage with mom and another budgie who i am resting, from /breeding else she will carry on! I also seperated one breeding pair into a cage. My Lovebirds r breeding but they have abandoned their eggs 3 times, and started new, why??? They are young and first timers, but they are past a year in age. I read on forum somewhere said that an egg still had luckily a heartbeat! How do you determine that? how do you hear a heartbeat in an egg? pse tell pse do!!!!

Hi Everyone I'm New To Bbc
Hi Nadine, Aman, Birdluv and phoebe, etc My PoffPoff is an English Showbudgie, and the best bird Dad ever.I mated him with an Ino-she is Lilly a white Albino. They have had 3 clutches. I the first clutch most were trampled from stupidness, 2 survived. The colours were one distict copy of the father, one Pale blue with light blue on chest and slightly darker markings on wings. The 2nd clutch was very interesting, 5 survived and 1 I handreared, the colours were amazing! Yellow, Lilac, RoyalBlue, pale blue,Turquoise. I sold two but the rest i kept and they all turned out to be females who are now mating with Pixieblue my rainbow and Midnite my striped Blue Budgie. one or two are not mated, still fighting. My one yellow spottled brown female has 3 eggs from a male who is now isolated with another female he chose, but she is still sitting on the 3 eggs. How is she goign to manage on her own? Will I have to help? I have only removed young to prevent trampling and have managed to save 1 and raise her on parakeet raising formula? She's now my tamest budgie called Fievel - HELP! Advise please, she has 3 eggs due in about 7 days. I have photos in Photobucket-now to figure out how to get them on forum????!!! This is the female I am worried about. Daffodil! Sally my Indian ringneck

Hi!
Yep I put an English show budgie (male)with a normal small ,what they call American parakeet/ budgie.she is slender compared to him. English show budgies r big+have wide shoulder+chest spans, and fluffy faces with high forehead+eyes sunken more into head+smaller. That's why I want2 upload photos 2 show you them+their chics they had. Strong fellas. Birds of a feather don't always flock together! Ha ha I have Lovebirds, finches,2 Indian Ringnecks(now that is a challenge), canary+Java Sparrow, 2 rescued Laughing Turtledoves that fell out of nests outside, baby babies+i raised them myself. They r tame tame.I have about 50 birds. I am crazy bird lady. I have 4 cats to keep at bay,2 tortoises wandering in garden-3 dogs+some fish. A veritable Noahs ark shelter. I also feed wild sparrows that come to my Fly-inn poft outside in garden. Watched many generations come+feed their young.well back to photos.thanks4 info

Hi!
Hi I managed to change my profile photo now to the English Show Budgie male i have, that's a close up of him -i mated him with a normal Budgie who is an Albino snow white, and the chic i handraised was from their 2nd clutch. They kept trampling babies to death between mom+bigger chics as she decided to lay 2 eggs then after a few days she decided to lay another 8 eggs!!! needless to say many late hatchlings died, so i decide with her 2nd clutch i am checking daily!. Sure enough she laid another bloody 10 eggs of which 3 died, i rescued the youngest 2 from a sure trampling death. the little one died in 2 days but dear Fievel survived. He is the cutest_ its so much more rewarding when they are tame. How do i post photos?

Hello Newbie Here With Baby Budgie!
Hello Newbie here with baby-Welcome -Females fight, not males, strangely enough in Budgie world!!! The Females fight for the male's attention, not the other way around. Just make sure Mom& Dad have enough food and greens like lettuce and Apple or Strawberries. I put Cod Liver oil on seeds at night so by morning they are soaked in for their morning feed, also Wheatgerm oil. All available at Bird Pet Stores. NO DRAFTS! Morning sun, but if you are away in the day they should be where they can get cover from the sun but access to the sun. I put a cloth on one section for shade and leave the other perch on the sunny side. Hope you have no other probs. The Dad feeds the mom and the mom feeds the baby..........LOL

Hi Everyone I'm New To Bbc
I started as a hobby as I am semi retired, my daughters out of home+ I need to nurse budgies.cutest species ever. I need lotsa help. I started with 2 pairs+1 extra male Midnite(deep blue). My 1st pair to breed was my English showbudgie PoffPoff with an American white Albino budgie. They have produced 3 clutches. No egg binding problems there @all. They need lotsa cuttlefish to prevent egg binding. He is big+she is small+streamlined! I also have Tulip. Yellow with white cheek tufts but she has uniquely red eyesn not black or grey!like a white mouse/rat! I paired her with Pixieblue, who cud be a rainbow:yellow head, blue body, white+grey striped wings. They had 1st clutch of 4. Midnite's in Aviary+had a field day with 4 females, one has 6 eggs+ 1 3, and one has 2 eggs. What am I gonna do with casanova's cluthches? He can't manage more than 1, will kill him

Hi Everyone!
You sound so excited. I am new on forum and have had my budgies for a year. I took up this hobby for pleasure of talking with my birds+ enjoying them To find a fast expanding family. They love breeding! If her ceres is beige or brown she is female, but its extremely deceiving. I called Fievel thinking its a boy, and she turned out a girl! Only after 6-8 months do their true colours show
