I didn't mean I found it interesting as in I'd like to try it. Just that I've never heard of it happening before!
  9. I was just trying to help and learn... Also I'm reading and posting on here on my iPod so sometimes some parts don't appear. One of the parts was the fact that I'm not a professional and he should wait for others to help out. Please calm down, I am only a beginner and just trying to help others. Please don't bring my breeding into factor. Anyway, hope you have been helped out and know what to do with this info. Gb sorry if I sound b****y I wasn't intending that.
  10. May have had an underlying ilness. Any chance of pics? Colony breeding is not ideal and you said he LOOKED like a breeder, that worries me a bit. Were the grass seeds fresh like wild or store bought? Wild ones could have been sprayed with weed killer? Like I mentioned pics would help... Sorry about your loss. Hopes the other survives. Did the "breeder" say how old they were?

I wouldn't trust them personally. If I want quality birds, I go to a professional breeder, not a pet shop. The conditions most pet shops have is appalling. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to stereotype all pet shops, it's just there are few good quality, well looked after pet shops anymore. But I can understand your point Kaz. Hooray for different opinions... a bit cheesy sorry...

None taken, but I have read up, it was just that almost everyplace had a slightly different answer. I know the casualties and next year I'm doing cabinets. I am not a learn as I go casualty. And to answer your question, 3 cocks, 3 hens. All are doing fine. Like you said, I, myself am not being rude. Tell me if I am... LOL

I've read somewhere that it can take 7-14 days. But I don't know whether that's true. I'll just have to wait as she likes 2 breeding boxes now. She can't make up her mind, lol.
  19. Very helpful links. Scary man though. Hope everything goes okay though for you!

I've seen "bush budgies" before and cost $50 each. I didn't believe it as there Ceres looked young and I could see some of mutations in some. To me, the only true way of knowing whether they are bush budgies is with proof via papers/documents. True bush budgies wouldn't be sold at any old pet shop:)
  24. That explains a lot! Thanks
