Bok Choy Day
Cute photos . I haven't given bok choy to my birds, I should offer them some. Do your birds eat the white stalk part too or just the leaves?

Quick Question..
because they are rodents we spend all our time keeping mice and rats out so seems silly to add a ginnipig the urinates are not only very strong in smell and they do atract mice (i bred them two years back i gave up as i needed to decide pigs or birds ) they also can carry mite and eye infections that pass on i know as mine were not in same cage and once their my birds got mite from the pigs as i forgot to wash hands before handling a nest :{ it can work but i wouldnt myself I agree. Personally I wouldn't. Birds might eat the poos and get sick. I wouldn't risk my birds health. Can i ask, is it okay to have quails in an aviary with budgies? I was told that budgies would kill and eat the quails if they wanted protein. my budgies killed all my quail mind you i never had any probs with this before i got into the show birds the pets didnt hurt them but the show budgies killed them all specially if they breed it ends up more pain than worth in my opinion but i really do miss my quail i was thinking of trying to get one of the bigger ones they wouldn't atack it then i wouldnt think I really love quails . I might buy some in the future. At the moment I'm only focusing on my budgies. I don't think I'd have them in with my budgies, after what you said GB .

What Might The Results Be?

More Scaley Face
Poor little fellas. There should be a law against selling sick birds. Worse still is when the pet shop doesn't even know there birds are ill. You are a very kind lady Anne, no doubt you have saved there lives.

Agree I couldn't never be bored looking at your beautiful babies.- Koko Seems Sick....
Hope your little guy gets better soon. Just watched those 2 videos, very interesting. I think i'll go practice holding some birds today.- Singles Thread
You're gorgeous GB. :hap:- Food For Chicks
I use it in my soft food as above. I also use it in finger drawers for parents feeding chicks ( dry powder ) and served dry to babies in the kindie cage too. No cooking necessary. Thank you, just checking. (Raw egg-salmonella-food poisoning).- Food For Chicks
I have purchased Farm Pride whole egg powder, can i give as is or do i need to cook it first?- Ivermectin
Hi Randmness, I'm not an expert. Do you have the box or instruction sheet? Is it the cattle product? I have the cattle one which is pour on only (external only) , its blue like you described.- Re-intoducing My Flock
Nice birds and very cool names.- Expanda Foam
I have my birds in an uninsulated shed... I have found that a simple 40watt light turned on 24/7 is enough to stop any condensation... there is no damp even when there is 70 birds in there and all windows and doors are closed. Its great for preventing night frights as well, and doesn't bother the birds at night. Great tip. I am also going to put a radio on, someone told me if you leave a light and radio on it will deter rodents. I think mice can chew through the foam but i read somewhere they can't chew steel wool.- Finnie's August 2010 Pairs
Your birds look great Looking forward to updates.- Expanda Foam
I'm guessing it didn't kill them  but did it make them sick? I have expanda foamed the entire aviary/birdroom (a very dodgy job) but i'm going to put a ceiling and insulation in so birds can't get at the steel wool and expanda foam. I'm really hoping no mice get in- Singles Thread
Best of luck finding love in budgie land!! and I'm not single either.- Expanda Foam
Thank you GB for your kind words and support. :flowers:- New Bird Room
Looks great. Have you looked on ebay or trading post? I picked up my shed 6x3, 2nd hand for $500, it needed a bit of TLC, but heaps cheaper than new. We also got a 3x3 off ebay for $140.- Sweet New Addition To Our Flock!
He's sweet. Nice colours and love he's name, very fitting.- Before And After Budgie Photos
Well done. Great looking bird.- Unintended Budgie Owner
Very cute little fella you've got there- Expanda Foam
Thank you for your advice Kaz and Splat. Hopefully it will be all finished by next weekend.- Expanda Foam
Ceiling height is only 1.8m and 2.1 in centre so it looks like we will insulate both sides (polyester). I will use the expanda foam and steel wool for gaps in roof because birds won't be able to get at it if we put ceiling in.We will use cement for gaps they can access. Any suggestions for ceiling material? I was thinking birds would chew through plasterboard.- Expanda Foam
The gaps are in the roof. I was going to use steal wool and expanda foam. The shed is 6x3. Half will be breeding room and other half will be flight. We were going to put a ceiling up and insulate with insulation batts. We will insulate breeding side but was going to leave flight side. We have done the floor gaps with cement. - Babies In The Nappy Cage
