Hi Kaitlyn, March is a good time to breed here in QLD and you can breed right up till it gets to cold. My favorite time of the year for breeding is September, but remember the birds must be in breeding condition or you will be wasting your time and the birds. Hey Dave it sounds promising with all those eggs. Mate have you found any difference in the quality of the chicks that come from the smaller eggs compared to the larger ones. I just wonder if the size of the eggs makes any difference in how good the chicks will be. I have some small and large eggs at the moment, which I'v never had before. Cheers, Geoff

Look I do agree with you all to a point. Yes I enjoy my birds. I'm happy for those who are content with where they are in the hobby. Thats great My frustration is more for those people who have been in the hobby for 10 to 20 years who are struggling on a pension and can not buy in the birds they need to be up there with those who have the resources to buy good birds, which makes a huge difference. Yes I'm a realest and know it takes time, skill, and dare I say it money to make to the top.

Wow they sold for a lot of coin, they were very special birds and of great quality going by the pictures. I'm just about over this hobby, because if you don't have the money to buy these quality birds your not in the game. Every auction I go to you will see the top guys getting big dollars for there birds and then purchasing other top breeders bird for $$$$. It's just a money game period.

Well fordmob it doesn't matter what I call it my mates, wife and family still laugh at me, they call me a budgie smuggler lol. I train in Brazilian jujitsu so they no not to push me too farI get very little respect from people who know I breed budgies and thats why it's a lonely hobby because people just aren't into it

Maddy she may have been egg bound? Hens are more inclined to get egg bound during winter. I'm waiting for the weather to warm up before pairing mine up. All the best with them and I'm looking forward in seeing some pinks
