  1. The North East Budgerigar Society (NEBS) is having a sale this Wednesday the 8th of June, it starts at 8pm the address is 49 Le Hunte St, Kilburn SA. there will be 100+ birds for sale
  2. The Hen from PAIR 3 has laid her 6th egg today. so far 7 eggs . well i have given up hope on PAIR 7 she has laid another egg of the perch I hope the one fertile one hatches for you soon. Even if she only has one chick, it is that much more experience for her, so maybe she will be a better breeder next time around. Thanks Finnie, it should have hatched by now, she started laying on the eggs on Friday the 13th of may

HI Guys. today i went and saw the bloke about the aviary, he is willing to hold it for a few weeks for me. and from him i picked up 4 breeding cabinets with dividers to make 2 long cabinets for $60 they are near new only used for a few weeks. i think i got a great deal . and i have found Polystyrene sheet insulation 10 sheets 1200mm x 600mm x 40mm (4 feet x 2 feet x 1.5 inches) for $ 66 , i will call them tomorrow and see if they will sell less sheets as 10 is too many for my roof.

Thanks SC yeah it is a good aviary Thanks Splat, i can put the seed on the shelf that is behind the safety door as it is fully protected from the weather. because the entrance door has a clear plastic blind and the end of aviary also has a clear blind

Thanks GB, 40 is plenty i will try and get him down to 220 i think that is enough for it . i don't think its got any rust in it but you can't see the bottom frame from seed and soil.

  9. hi guys, just another quick up update PAIR 3 hen has laid her 5th egg she is on 6 eggs so far one foster, the cock from pair will not settle down when ever i put my hand in his cage he goes crazy flying everywhere and hitting his head on the top of the breeding cabinet . sorry GB here it is in feet 6 feet wide about say 3 feet deep. the minimum width i should make the flight area inside the birdroom as it is not that big is about 2 feet big enough? , i have 14 club budgies & 4 pet type budgies. plus more to come next month as my club is having a auction
  13. Thanks Taboo, i will keep up with the updates

Thanks GB for that great idea i'll most likely put another window in on the end of the bird room next to the other window and make one thats 1.7m wide about say 1m deep. as my dad would not agree with taking up more of lawn, it was hard enough to bet this birdroom, wait until i get an aviary . Another question for you GB what do you think the minimum width i should make the flight area inside the birdroom as it is not that big is 0.70m big enough?

Hi guys, just another update. i forgot that i was bidding on the roofing foil insulation and got out bidded , i was not happy i really want to insulate my bird room from some of the cold. i woke up early yesterday you should have seen the condensation on the roof. but now i have now found 12 Polystyrene Sheets to bid on again on ebay buy this time i will not let them getaway unless its out of my price range the sheets are 2290mm long x 725mm wide x 15mm thick, i think i should be able to insulate most of the bird room, might put two layers on the roof.

HI, Kaz my area postcode is 5013 and my budget is around $200, the new aviary can be 2.0m long max & 0.76m wide max. but not important as i can make the bird room door smaller & the height around 1.8m. i will join it to my bird room and make a saftey cage. my birdroom is newlly made i need to still insulate it i am currently bidding on ebay on some foil roof insulation. as i have condensation building up on the roof. and the insulation should make it a bit warmer. heres the link for it http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130523586383&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT i have included a diagram of my setup.
