  1. Thanks Kaz... I'll have to do some reading... :rip:
  2. Do we have any info on this Kaz and where...? :rip:
  3. Just make sure she has plenty of food and water everyday... Hopeful the male will help her out... Even put millet in her nesting box to so she can eat while in there... And be careful that the older chicks don't squash or hog all the food too... I wish you the best of luck and don't be scared to ask questions we are here to help... :rip:
  4. Just love them Kaz... And they look so good... I just love the greys... Let me know if you sell any of them... A very big fan of Greys... Not sure why but I am... You really have worked hard on your stock Kaz and it shows... I haven't known you long but I can't help but be proud of you as a friend... :rip: You really are someone who can do anything she put her mind too...
  5. Some good looking babies there... :rip: look forward to watching them grow...
  6. Oh no Anne... I hope something good comes off the eggs... I hope they weren't cold for too long...
  7. Is the door on the nesting box itself...? Is there anyway you can add a clear sheet in front of the door so she cant chew on the wood...
  8. That is great news about the spiders... :hap: For the birds and you...!
  9. Give her a break and try again if no luck still split them and try them with different hen and cock... That will tell you who the problem is... Sorry couldnt be any more help...
  10. If they are a female and male Lutino and bred together you would only get lutino's... But that doesnt take into any splits they may have... Splits are hidden genetic's they dont show on the outside...Lutino's are hard to sex until they are mature enough to breed... As Lutino's have a gene that stop all black markings showing on them and also effects their cere (nose) colour... Photo's would be a great help to us if you need to confirm that they are male and female... :)Has she breed for you or someone else...?
  11. red eyes and white wing tips are Lutinos...
  12. Example for Lutino's (yellow budgies) if you bred the two together you get Lutino young... But Lutino come in different shades of yellow too... so you may end up with some dull yellow and really deep golden yellows... You could use the Grey greens to a Lutino to give them more features, buff, feather directions, etc... Because you are talking about all varieties there is so much info for it all you would have to read some of the other posts available on the forum to learn more... Hope this helps...
  13. how often was she out of the box...? often enough for them to mate or did she just hide in the box from the male giving him no chance to mate with her...? Not sure what you could do if she was a nest box hinder... Hmmm... Others may have some suggestions... Give them a break like u you are and try again later, if still no success split them and try with different hen or cock...
  14. What do you mean one colour...? Do you mean two green budgies together...? Are you talking about show or pet type budgies too...? Why do I ask because all of this matters as to who we breed with what... Example, show budgies we breed two budgies together that would breed us show quality young... The cock and hen would have to cancel out each others faults... One with short mask other with long mask... And there are some varieties we do not breed together at all...
  15. Cere sounds like it was right colour... Did you ever see them mate...? Ive had hens they would not mate with certain cocks but others no problems... Could she be one of those hens...? have you bred with her before...? Does she show any signs of illness...? Scaley, etc...
  16. Geez, I on to it today... hee hee...
  17. Foster if you can Anne... Do you have other hens down...?
  18. Maybe worth a look just incase... Only a suggestion though... LB2005, just call me Steph... Easier i think... hee hee
  19. I agree with Kaz... Its not your fault and you did everything right... Sometimes these things happen... hugs...
  20. Spider bite...? Something scare her...? I'm so sorry to hear Anne... A lose of any hen is not fair...
  21. Hayden, all Kaz asked for was a photo of your set-up so we can advise you on your thoughts as to why your bird could be sick in the first and if it is best suited that that budgie will great better indoors... And Dave is right about just keeping the budgie in the laundry, if it is out in other areas with people than it is fine but only to stay in the laundry all day and night really isnt fair for the bird and I would suggest that it is kept outside with the others and you still get to enjoy your birds even if they are outside... That is all we are asking... There is no need to get upset when you asked the question and we gave you our thoughts on it...
  22. Sorry to hear about the babies... Look forward to photos though...
