this is a very interesting topic... My avairy has a third of it open to the sunlight, and preety much the whole day sunlight gets in. the only down thing is the whole floor gets wet and the birds have a chance of getting that coccivet diease which i havent done anything about yet. i have recently started feeding them with a mixture of hulled oats, linseed, white millet and a few othe seeds i cant recall. Sometimes i put mineral supplement inside the water. it supplies about 30 vits and mins.my budgies sometimes gets lettuce, and i am trying to make an effort lately to feed them apple. actually tomorrow ill give some carrot . however my birds get those grass seeds and weeds more often then lettuce and they love it and also some sticks of a grass tree and it has charcoal on its trunk which i serve as grit. thats my budgies health report

It LOOKS like a lutino lacewing or fallow....what colour is its eyes and it would be nice to have pictures of the back and side etc... are you able to make the pictures bigger for us? :rofl:

he is moulting... when a budgie moults alot of energy is drained from then so most people dont reccomend breeding moulting birds as it will over-tax them.. he should be ready form breeding in a month or two... also if other birds are moulting give them extra veggies, fruits and other stuff so that they get the nutrients :rofl:

we coiuld make a bigger difference to the way budgies are kept in pet shops then the RSPCA could just some motivation!!!

Yay! i ahve uploaded some pics from this morning....however unfortunately one of my lutinos died..ahh welll This is the cinnanooms babies...some of them had a lot of white down...opaline...but mummy picked it off. there is four babies as one recently hatched The unhatched albinos eggs The lutino and spangles eight eggs. I know about the blood in there a budgie killed a baby and raided the nest which is another reason i am going to stop colony breeding and the pieds eggs.. and one hatched.. this is the nest i am most excited about i also have a picture of my quail quincy thats the story

There are three budgie clubs. Metropolitan budgie club that meets in bassendean. Rare budgie club that meets in girrawheen and southwest budgie club that meets in Mandurah. The rare budgie club has the interclub challenge ( all three clubs ) on this weekend Sunday 5th at Girrawheen.....if you want to go and have a look. I will be there. There will also be budgies for sale there too. Jeepers, girrawheen? Last time i was there that was a scary place lol. I lived all over WA and perth (up, down, left, right, inland, coastal) for over a year and girrawheen was the only place i wouldnt go at night-time! Although i did hear that some richies were buying up all the cheap places bordering on the nice suburbs and extending the nice buildings until 'old girrawheen' got smaller and smaller? thats funny...thanks for the advice. I had a look at the street map at where girrawheen was..i thought that because the name sounds a bit aboriginal that it would be very very far out in the outskirts near the desert but its only in Joondalup (thats still quite far from me!)!! is bayswater closer to Southern regionn of Perth???.. i dont know the suburbs well.. Lol..Thanks for the advice on the Albino!

almost a week later and nothing much has happened ..but its still a long story ..the cinnanom girl has 3 bubs , the lutino has 7 eggs which should hatch soon... and another she has is a foster egg. the Albino eggs dont seem to want to hatch because the hen never lays on them . Dominant piedy has still 7 eggs and cobalt and yellowface are stuck on 5 eggs All is going good after these nests are finished i am going to take the nests out of the avairy...From then on i wont let the avary birds breed in their because they always fight and stuff. Also i almost forgot to add i have a new male chinese painted quail...he is so adorable and is very shy...when we put him in a bigger box he flew out stright like a helicopter!!!! i have seen pictures of quail babies...they are like the little yellow fake chicks you see around easter im on a roll!!!LOL very happy

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....Must be both he has a goldenface....and he is a yellow face type 2 so i think that he is both...lol...not sure mutations are too confusing it makes my head spin..lol. i think yf1 have creamier yellow. he is adorable!!!
