Argh Help Please Emergency!
Call the closest club to you, and they might be able to help you find someone who has birds down breeding. Try looking on some classified websites to see if anyone is selling baby birds in your area, and contact them to see if their breeders. Otherwise, you have little to zero chance of her surviving.

Lacewing Or Fallow?
why would you want to do that ? not everyone breeds for show. some people like pretty birdies, or let their birds naturally pair.

Building An Aviary
Would love to see some pictures. Just be warned you should try and set-up some type of enclosure/seperator to let the tree's re-cooperate, budgies will chew through and kill it in no time. What are you doing for air flow? and sunlight?

What Partner Should I Get For Sparta?
Yes, you should get 50% normals and the other dominant pieds. Just make sure the bird you get is a DOMINANT pied, not a recessive...If you don't plan on taming the bird, I would get an adult (already with a blue cere), so you can't confuse it for a recessive pied. Otherwise, unless you are confident you can tell the difference, get the bird from a breeder, or research how to tell them apart.

What Partner Should I Get For Sparta?
Homozygous is a term used in genetic's to describe the type of gene. Homozygous means dominant, so they are the same thing.

What Partner Should I Get For Sparta?

wow, I can't believe the prices some of you pay! At my local grain store, where I always sell and buy budgies, They are all $15. I sell them for $5. Even at the big big big bird delear I go to, they are $15 for pet's, $20 for show birds. I get $4-7 for my birds when I sell them there.- Yellowface Confusion
Okay GB, I have contacted someone and she reckons she should be able to get me some clearwings, some gf violet's or mauve's, and possibly some opaline clearwings....How does that sound? I am looking at getting maybe 3 hens and a cock (at least some /clearwings and visuals) she also talked about some yf dilute clearwings.... She likes pretty birds Don't be to harsh, he has the markings of a rec. pied, it is easy to assume!- My Cute Little Budgie
Looks fantastic!- $15 Pet-Shop Bird
I gave her a spot of invermectin, so that will clear up anything... What am I looking for with the prolapse/internal egglaying? any disfigurement of the vent? I am thinking she may have been sold because of the flecking.... She has it a bit in her cap, and a dirty V...Some breeders can be pretty picky. She would have been sold the first time because of the reduction sale, I will see if I can chase up the second owner.- Yellowface Confusion

Here is my bargain for the day! Dominant Pied Opaline Dark Green, Blue ringer. I called our ring stweard, and she was bred by John and Barbara Fisher. I looked up the auction catalogue from last year (if any-one remember's) and she was sold on in that! I have no idea how she got to one of my local pet-shops, but she is a pretty well-bred bird is she is bred from Fisher's line.... I am certain she went for more in the auction. I am gonna try and ring-around to see how she ended up an hour from Adelaide, I live in the hills, most members live in town.... So someone down here must have bought her, we only have 1 or two other members down here. Anyways, i am happy with her nice chunky hen as far as I am concerned, bit wary of why she was in the pet-shop to be honest.... What do you guys think?- Yellowface Confusion
And yes, everything is right that you got (phantom is half-brother to kitron and smudgie) I don't know, I got them at the same time, and they are quite similar, BUT if one is DF dominant pied, and the other is rec. pied, then I wouldn't think they would be related...not sure... Ages: Apollo - 5 or so? (very fertile and healthy though!) Willow - Unknown Kitron - Start of this year Smudgie - Start of this year Phantom - November 2008... going on 4? Smiggle - Last Year Tingle - Would have been born last year Kringle - Would have been born last year Vermello - 6 months Kislap - 6 months If this helps (Candy is gone, why the red X is there) Males are green, hens are red...- Yellowface Confusion
I have a couple answers in bold, those are the birds that caught my eye and I would love to breed. I would also adore breeding some pure 'rainbow's , so I am currently searching for some clearwings. I have listed below my entire pet flock GB, if you could help me get some pretty cool pairings, that would be great! (females are in pink, males are in blue) I am going to try and get a clearwing hen by the way. Also, I have show hen's I could use if needed. Apollo - YF 2 Sky Blue Opaline Spangle /Rec.Pied Willow - Spangle Grey/Rec. Pied Kitron - YF 2 Spangle Grey possibly split Rec.Pied (Mother is Willow, Father is Apollo) Smudgie - Grey Recessive Pied (Mother is Willow, Father is Apollo) Phantom - YF 2 DF Spangle/Cinnamon (not sure on factor colour, mum was a violet, Father is Apollo) Smiggle - Normal Violet/Rec. Pied maybe Fallow Tingle - GF Recessive Pied Cobalt Kringle - GF DF Dominant Pied Violet Vermello - Some type of clearwing/dilute and spangle mish mash.... grey-green Kislap - Spangle Clearbody Opaline Mauve ( I think.... ) Photo of Vermello Photo of Kislap Photo of Kringle,to prove he is violet! haha and some more photo's of the pied pair- Yellowface Confusion
I thought with yellowface 2, after the moult, the yellow will bleed into the colour? How come with chick one, he was born with it? I think Phantom is a violet, the mum was a violet which would explain the cobalt...most likely chick one was a violet sky? not sure on the whole violet and dark factors thing >.< Also, The top pied bird has iris rings? Would that mean he is a dominant pied? AND THANKYOU- Yellowface Confusion
Anyone?- What Are These?
Does anyone still know what these chicks are? I am really looking into the dilute/clearwings, as I have sold one bird and kept his brother (both were cocks) to use for pet breeding, because I want to get some rainbow's . I have come to the conclusion that the violet is a violet spangle opaline clearbody...no clue were the spangle came from.... now that I think about it though, wouldn't he only have pink feet is he is a cinnamon? And whatever the clearwing thing is, he is spangle as well - Male Or Female Please Help
