  1. Cool. (lol) Thank you for that, Kaz.
  2. My pet budgies have had their nest box for 2 weeks. Everything is set up the way it is supposed to be. The hen's cere is tan. They are showing less interest in each other than they were when they got the box. They do not even go in it. Should I wait?
  3. Oh no!! I am sooo sorry. You worked so hard for Shaggy to have a happy little life. I love the photo of him with his toys. Poor, poor Cirrus. My sincerest condolences, Liv.
  4. I use Roudybush and Vetafarm. Both are good but Roudybush is available in very few places. You can get Vetafarm at most petshops.
  5. They are soooo nice.
  6. They are spectacular photos!
  7. Yes. I saw it on the news on Channel Nine. I looked up their website for a link but could not find it.
  8. For photo see Wild budgies
  9. I love looking at these pictures. You are so clever. You will be very proud of the end result.
  10. Congratulations comma 007. I hope your exertions have not caused a coma. May you enjoy an enhanced karma.
  11. :hooray: That is very sad.
  12. Ace! Now, throw away all those old blue ladros and put your pretty silver bird in their place!

  14. :boogie: :star:   :bliss: :celebrate: :grbud: :hooray: :wine CONGRATULATIONS!! Well deserved.
  15. That is a lovely characteristic. You read of other species where the later born chicks are only spares for in case the first one hatched does not survive. Only one chick is actually raised because it pushes the others out of the nest. Then, of course, there are others where older fledglings take part in the defence and raising of the young. I do not know of other birds whose nestlings actually feed their siblings. Do you?
  16. not canary mix Catherine, but finch mix. Canary mix is no good for budgies either. I use pure canary seeds Canary seed (good) Canary mix (bad) Thank you for that. I missed seeing your post until now. I do give them canary seed. I'll go and see what is in the seed merchant's finch mix otherwise I'll just keep making my own mix.
  17. RIPb, those galahs get around, don't they? Indiscriminate, I'd call it. You'd think there would be enough galahs to choose from without going for another species.
  18. I did not know that. What do the sellers call them?
  19. An hybrid galah/corella used to visit my place in the nineties. I called him Larrikin. He came each day with either the flock of corellas or the galahs. He did not necessarily leave with the flock he came with. He was not well accepted by either flock. He bullied the galahs and was bullied by the corellas. He was the biggest clown I ever saw. I used to hang interesting things in my gazebo for him to swing on. He would accept whatever food I was offering and them turn on a splendid show - swinging, doing somersaults and what have you. That Christmas, my guests turned the chairs around so that they could all look out the windows at Larrikin and the galahs. When it was time to eat, they declined to sit at the table. They filled a plate and returned to look out the window at the original entertainment. Unfortunately, these hybrids (or mules) are infertile and rarely live more than a season. Larrikin came for about 8 months and was seen no more. Sadly, those were the days before I had a camera.
  20. I expect that it's not a place you would go for a picnic?
  21. Catherine replied to Kate's topic in Budgie Behaviour
What fun! I did laugh. Very definite shades of otter there.
  22. That is really interesting. The last picture shows his face so well. Are there any other large mammals in the park?
