Budgie.. Egg Stealer?
well you can solve that issue with wood over the top of the cage or something else so the birds don't attack each other. wish you luck in finding out what is going on

Splats Df White Spangle Cock Breeding

What Sex Is My Budgie?
i state male. not sure what the green is about, was there anything green in the cage when you got him as he may have rub that. to the brown could be a sign of infection. does he sneeze or breath heavy?

Opaline. Or Not Opaline.
RIpP - I know it isn't that simple, sometimes for people to get an understanding it is better to start simple.

What Are These Girls
The cheek patches look grey to me, and I agree with Dave on colours

Some New Breeders
great birds do you have ideas for the hen for the yf blue cock? why not call him Elvis as he will be the King of your stock
-
What Are These
i think he is a cobalt yf 1 dominant pied her i think cinnamon grey green as the cheek patches look grey to me. i would love a back shot of her as she could be a pied as well with the white in her patch.

Opaline. Or Not Opaline.
dutch pieds normally have the band on their chest or more recessive type markings and fuller markings on the wings (should be full like your bird) with clear flight feathers (hence the other name) Aussie pieds will have patches on their wings or more markings removed and the band around the belly area of the bird. I agree with Nubby he looks to be dutch pied but he should be getting rings around now. I don't think he is Opaline.

Hi All!
oh my mistake i was thinking another male for some reason. it would be very rare for hens to share a nest box normally fights happen over them. the other thought I had was the bird are related, it is common for the pet type bird to be sold together and recessive is a common trait to be hidden.

Male Or Female
nice work Houman. anyone else see mild signs of scaly face? both have marks on the beak to me
-
Hi All!
nice birds, Cheeky is a recessive pied which means the gene could have been carried (hidden) by the parents. but was the older cheeky in the cage when they bred? as he could be the dad instead.

Colours Of These 3 Birds?
that is how i read it too nubbly and i didn't realize both birds in question where spangles so the tail colour will not help. looking at the new ones i still thing olive

Colours Of These 3 Birds?
cobalt violets would look mauve. so you are right in saying the mum is most likely a sky blue violet. Agree with Neville that the 2nd chick looks grey-green but the cheek patches don't appear grey to me, i picture of their tails would help but i would say they are olive.

Spangle Wing Markings
i was going to ask the age of the bird, i would think the feathers will clear up a bit with adult feathers. Or else they are just poorly marked
-
Sky Violets, Bit Confused.
she looks cobalt to me as well Elly

Coalface Budgie
to me those throat feathers look nothing like normal feather even on Heavily flecked birds there is still only spots not total black. of cause this is a one off bird again to back up the claim more will need to be produced.

Before And After Budgie Photos
yes he is, i would love to have a DF so good luck breeding her, it is wonderful to watch them change from young to adult feathers.
-
Coalface Budgie
looks interesting Kaz, Ratzy her is heavily flecked but if you look at the throat spots feathers of this 'coalface' budgie they are totally black not with the normal black spot. sounds like the breeder doesn't have the parents any more to try for another like him. it will be interesting to hear if any chicks appear with this of his.

Question For The Aussies
not heard of that vet before but it is a good area, if you like bush/mountains over beach. mostly here in this area (south qld) you can get 17 c to 25 c temps, mostly you can get around in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and a jacket or long sleeved shirt

Why Can't We Import Budgies From The U.k. Anymore ?
