I was just thinking shade cloth over the top of the wire, but with the gap would mean the birds can't chew at it and put holes in it.
  2. WooHoo So are you adding your other egg with the spangles?? or are you going to wait for the second one. I hope you get a DF spangle from that pair.

welcome Minty is a reall cutie in those pictures.
  4. Thanks luvnscooter that helps a lot, scooter is a type 1 as all think so. If the wings had yellow on then he would be type two.
  5. woohoo Can you remind us of what sweetpea and Boidie look like?
  6. what colour is on his wings?? I can't see them very well, are they white or yellow edges?
  7. Snow sounds a bit of a worry to me that she might have what is know as beak and feather disease. Is there an avain vet in your area that you could take her too for a check? Rowan is a cutiepie, and the name is perfect for him.
  8. Aww what a cutie, I think you have a she the ring around the nares are very strong. As to mutation she looks like a dutch dominant pied but we will have to wait for iris rings to be sure.
  9. One more egg from Tootie needs checking yet so I could have 9 babies all together unless Ringo get her act together and falls for Kree in the end here.
  10. wow lucky you I can't wait to see your little wiggly pink blobs
  11. I have my fingers crossed for you Daz. Ringo laid an egg again so I removed her old egg and the other egg from you Daz now has lines in it No new one for Tootie and her number 5 egg has lines as well. so 8 possible babies now.
  12. oh no I hope not also silly girl I hope your telling her off.
  13. EEK Did you know if any of the DG eggs where fertile?? Do you think she is going to continue with the eating?
  14. Aww look at yasmin sitting all pretty. I like the two group shots of them
  15. Can I have a lend That's the kinda guy I need for Ringo I think, to match her for bullyness.
  16. okay Lovey your right with the spangle and vioelt bits and kinda with the other answers too, there will be blue normals but others as well now with the new information. Spangle blues Normal blues Spangle opaline girls Normal opaline girls The boys will be split for cinnamon and ino. With the babies the one closest to us sitting on the edge of the box it looks like, shows the signs on being an opaline. White down feathers on body.
  17. Kirb I answered on your thread I hope ariel continues to sit for you. Daz- omg i remember we counted and you kinda did a double take and counted again but only to eight with the ones I had !!! I hope you find it. What will you do if you thing she is eating them? Ringo has taken to her new eggs wonderfully Lisa - I know there is a thread somethere pinned in the breeding area with a link to a site about candling, but that was just to give pictures of what to look for it was actually for an other bird. We candle on day 5 when you can really see line running across the egg.
  18. I woulnd't panic now kirby, if you want you can leave ariel set up still and watch over the next little while to see what she does, if she leaves the nest that can't be helped. make sure you have handrearing formula and such in case you need to help out but budgies are ver good mummies most of the time. Belle has been doing a great job so far.
  19. familys can stay together in an avairy with out any nest boxes fine, I had a daughter bonding very strongly with her father, I left them be until she started laying eggs then gave her a two weeks time out. She didn't brood these just laied them to drop to the floor.
  20. Mine is two days behind Kirby :budgiedance: 22nd it's getting close now, 6 days kirby.
  21. Fingers crossed Daz. Are you going to check that late egg now as well?
  22. very cool :budgiedance: I love your pictures.
  23. Thanks Daz I thought it was Bluey. I heard Marine singing a bit strongly just a second ago and saw Tootie-fruity was out of the box so had a look since she was due for an egg today and her 6th was there!!! So she is sitting on seven. Fingers crossed she stoped now or I'll have her on 8 soon :(Laughing out loud):
  24. thanks again daz for this offer, I'm so going to owe you a few birds soon I checked the eggs before putting them under Ringo and the one marked 9 already has some lines in it :budgiedance: So that means if Ringo sits correctly it will hatch the same time as Tootie egg 4 and the other one. The other is clear of cause still, I removed Ringo egg three as it's crystal clear, so his her egg 4 and I will remove that in a few days once I'm happy with her sitting on the new ones. Can you remind me of Jazz's Partner? Even though I just remembered your site and will most likely visit that now.
