Sudden Death Of Budgie
I was just trying to help and learn... Also I'm reading and posting on here on my iPod so sometimes some parts don't appear. One of the parts was the fact that I'm not a professional and he should wait for others to help out. Please calm down, I am only a beginner and just trying to help others. Please don't bring my breeding into factor. Anyway, hope you have been helped out and know what to do with this info. Gb sorry if I sound b****y I wasn't intending that. you dont and i wasnt trying to insult your breeding i was just saying you yourself as you say are just learning so untill you have learnt guessing can actually be harmful people decide whom they want to listen to and follow the infomation of and if you give wrong info you could cause death of their pet im just saying be careful what advice you give and unless you know for sure or are positive it could be this and the reasons why you believe so best not to say anything as it just gets confussing to people that is why sometimes only one person will post an answer because that one persons info was corect so no need to add to it other times so many people comment the true awnser gets lost in it all why many other put in their opinions other times opinions differ but its useually the cure or the problem solver or like example nest box material no ones wrong its just what works best for the individual so experiances are shared i was not suggesting your breeding was not good i was stating suggesting it had an underlining illness is simply a stab in the dark was bno even reason why you came to that conclusion no a fence taken from me and hopefully from you toward me im just saying its hard to help when others just state ideas with no even posable reason why it just plants a un needed seed of doubt

Sex Addict Budgie!
thats not worth experimenting or risking Taylor of cause its possible but its not good for the poor cock bird i feel sorry for the poor blight and i dont care how good he looks to jets its really not a good idea id like to see jet stuck in a house with three screaming women demanding food then the babys triplets demanding food all at same time every week from two weeks on yes mum helps fed youngsters but its actually the father whom feeds from two weeks on more so than mum so she can get streanth and condition back to re lay when you dont allow this to happen and the hen has to feed as well as cock to supplement the chicks growth your hens get exhausted and become usless quicker hagged out as i call it so worked or not not a responsible action to take in my opinion

Sudden Death Of Budgie
im with kaz ..sorry taylor but you dont even know whats up with your birds so i think guessing some advice when you would be wrong in this instance is not good idea i think if someone asks about a ill bird or possible causes unless u your self have experience and first hand knowledge on the subject, im sorry but im sick of this fourum ,s younger members whom are asking basic knowledge questions them-self reply to people whom have no clue an inexperienced 12 year old is advising them (mabe your older that was just an example ) you should just not suggest any probable cause kaz had answered with realistic information and its clear here that the birds were two young their for most likely not weaned and hadn't eaten bar the seedling grass which wouldn't of helped as on a empty belly dehydration wouldn't of helped if they had not drunk along with being placed in a new environment outside straight away most likely causing them to be frightened (huddling in corner to keep warm and safe ) if i were you i would take the both birds back and ask for a new two birds but that are older im talking specifiably you want 8 week old birds at least sorry about your lose but id say starvation and fear were the main to causes of death not an underlining illness unless you see a chick flying strongly not just little cute flights from a to b then id pass it for one whom is zooming around as clearly they are a bit older and seed cracking by themselves i removed two chicks yesterday looked great cracking seed and so on however they weren't really eating it just playing they are back with mum n dad today weaker fluffed up but in hour were full again and fine as kaz said you must lightly feel crops if they are actually eating seed you will feel it in their crop quiet easy and not mistakenly cold could of played a part nights rather chilly

My 2011 Breeding Journal
splat did you think that it could just got chilled that causes birds to go light in a night it looks like to us but in fact as they just dont eat almost as soon as they feel sick or unwell they fluff up and as they haven eaten due to being cold and trying to stay warm they by the time we find them have already spent almost two days with out food or water causing black poo due to not eating and dehydration when i get a sick bird i always put it on raspberry cordial and a squeeze of lemon first for 24 hours before i asses it more and keep it warm of course i actually give it one point of a mil of this mix as soon as i bring it in if its alive the next day i then assess its poo again and go from their reason i do this is a bird thats dehydrated will die if given antibiotics with out being stabilized first you have to hydrate them first then proceed with antibiotics hope the little guy gets better id consider he may have a chill if he was on floor i always put my chicks back in nest or add a nest box for them to stay warm

R&t's Breeding Journal
i noticed a change in my seed and to be honest me or the birds were not happy with it it didnt sprout even after a week then i got green vale seed and again not happy jan only quarter sprouted and the hulled oates were brown in shriveled so i have been feeding the rabbits this seed i got another bag of seed budgie blue from avi grain and the quality was sooooooooooo way much better i then decided that i didnt like the percentage of mixed seeds so i got on canary avi grain and one budgie blue and i have been mixing them then i realized that the canary has everything that the budgie has but more canary seed plus few extras linseed and Niger and the hulled oats are beautiful n white it was less with white millet and red panican so i brought a bag of french white and a bag of red panican and i now buy the avi grain canary the birds are again putting on weight and looking great i just place in separate jars these three seeds they eat what they need and ive had no kicking of seeds out and im very pleased with the quality its costing me more but its worth seeing the differents in the birds

Urgent Help Needed!
okay, in my opinion she seems alot healthier that the lutino, but i just think the lutino has had a massive few days and they will both be good tomorrow, atleast i hope so. will take a week for her to get over her ordeal why i say let her rest inside for two weeks where you can watch she could still prolapse but she did seem good in the vent area so im guessing with a few days of being left alone but fed warm and watched she should be okay the grey i think is hagged out or has a tummor fatty mass

Cost and time is an isue so is time i know that sounds slack but where moving house, The oil and salt has partially worked one hen has now passed her egg to the tip of the vent just out of sight. Thanks taylor, i,d hate to loose these hens, they are big english girls one a lutino the other a grey normal. And the lute is madly in love if you save these girls you will not be able to breed them for my recommended time is one and half years thats if they pass eggs themselves if you need to get egg out then longer they need to heal i gave a prolapse hen to benny boy (free of course )i explained she had not been breed for a year and why and that if he breeds her be very careful and watch full he did everything right he waited another 8 months but she proplapssed and died regardless of extra care and supplements i personally would not breed these hens again other do i know i would not

Taylor's Breeding Journal
no not rude at all three cocks tree hens in how big an aviary hun i have breed colony myself with no casualty's i had no less than two nests per hen and all placed at same height this is important also all nests to be one and half foot away from each-other no less this is the proper way to set up colony breeding when all hens have paired off place in nests after few weeks of solid bonds then put in thick nesting materials into each nest two big handfuls of shavings each nest then when all hens have chosen a nest and stuck to it (this could take few weeks ) you need to remove the extra nests if you do not do this your hens will just move from nest to nest laying everywhere (you will know which nest your hen has chosen when she stays in it for up to three days consecutively ) first sign of a hen or cock being aggressive you need to remove this pair not just the aggressive bird as if you have an extra cock or hen in the breeding zone your asking for deaths to accure any other questions just ask if hens dont lay reasonably close together ( no longer than 8 days apart from first hens egg layed to last hens egg layed ( does that make sence have i got that so you understand all hens need to be laying at aproximatly same time 8 day being the longest day apart) also remove pairs with no eggs or definitely trouble will be had its all eyes and constant watching when breeding this way good luck gb if you follow this advice you should be reasonably safe that all should be okay but its not to say all *** will not break lose in one night or day regardless how good it is all going why can you not just get 3 cages and cage breed now cost of cages are but only $37 each will cost you more to replace any birds lost from territorial hens or cocks

Taylor's Breeding Journal
if you are colony breeding you may never get an egg or a chick live how many hens and cocks in your flight and dont you think you should study up on it all more before you breed specially if your not cabinet breeding as way more will go wrong youd be the exeption if it did not if i was you id read up on everything pre breeding pereperation and egg formation egg laying egg incubation chick hatching chick care saving lives and after clutch care and rest sounds like your just another ill learn as i go casualty no afence just please read learn then breed we are able to help more if at least most knowledge is known if something goes wrong but if you dont even know minimal safety care or basic what to do whats happening stuff then please remove boxes intill you do for your own breeding susses and enjoyment and for the birds sake please im not being rude please do not think i am but theirs so much more that sticking boxes in and eggs being layed chicks hatching so on gb

Ripoff Pet Shops
well i just voted that info as completely useless but thats my opinion the only truth in that is a budgie will not eat something when it gets hungry why you must always have its seed separate to its new food i dont know who wrote that but i thought it was not good advice also ive never used FAQ so i didnt know its advice was so ........

Yes im sure, they both have large swollen masses near the vent and i can feel the egg.Have you got any tips for this, one of the hens vent is opening a mil or 2 then closing is this the egg starting to pass. P.S. I used the salt, and there was a almost instant contraction. yes it induces contractions if the hen is egg bound she will pass the egg please keep her warm and quiet should take half hour you could also drop a tad of olive oil in the vent to help smooth things over (pain relife kind of olive oil not vegetable almond oil is also okay but none other please keep us updated please every now n then so i can help you through i need to know everything is the hens panting ?? are they stressed relaxed have you got feed and water with them are they warm where exactly have you got them are they bright enough bar the YOU THINK egg boundness and what way is the mass faceing the right way or is the egg posably turned as if its turned you may need to help egg out listen to this okay ps the man is scarry at the start please keep watching
