Teenage Son Learns A Valuale Lesson
Budgie anatomy may be harder to find. Try general bird anatomy. I wish I could give you my text books from uni! Sorry about the massive link. But towards the bottom this has a good comparason of digestive systems between birds. http://images.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=...l%3Den%26sa%3DN

Opaline Red Rump
I think MB was the only one to reply because she was the first. Everyone else would be repeating what she said! lol. Alexanderines and Conures are very different birds... Alex's are large mostly green birds with large red beaks (males have a black ring around their neck), and a red patch on each wing. Conures come in many species and styles. Ranging from a sunset yellow and orange colour to green, and some with black heads!

OMG Knox bird clinic is a walk from my house! Ill have to come visit next time you are working. Say hi to colin for me. As you said its a wonderful opportunity and I think you should maybe take it. Just be careful cause conures are very loud ect. As you know. I have to said, from working with big birds, to down grading to budgies I don't regret it for a second. They have all the charm, smarts and character of a big bird in a tiny package.- Christmas Has Come Early!
The past 48 hrs have been amazing for me! Last night I went to see a friend in hospital with a bunch of my girl friends. So that was really nice to see everyone and my sick friend is better. On the way home I picked up a new breeding pair from MB. And my BF brought me an aviary for Christmas! Plus I picked up another beautiful white bird from my work. So I am already over the moon! I finally got an amazing aviary and will soon have more little bubbas. BUT THEN... My parents, my boyfriend and my aunt and uncle went out for dinner to celebrate me graduating from uni when just before sweets my parents surprise me.... "Hunnie we have a present for you for graduating". OMG I had no idea. So really surprised I opened the presents to find...... A DIGITAL SLR! OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG! I have been wanting one since before I started uni. FOR FOREVER! OMG I burst into tears. Everyone was like, OMG is she okay! But I blubbered like a baby! I dont often want many things, but an aviary and a digital SLR were the two things I have wanted for ages. AND BOOM! All my forever christmas' have come at once. What an amazing 48 hours! My old bird used to be silent for a long time. Then he became the best talker. If he has been brought up on his own as a single bird he may not have learnt much "budgie talk". As far as him being tame, I wouldn't stress. Rejoice that he is already tame. If you spend lots of time with him where he feels comfortable then he will soon learn to trust you when you go to move things in the cage. If you can let him choose to be with you (instead of force) this will make the bond even stronger. Good luck and keep us informed PS. DOnt be too worried about his actions (in terms of tameness) be more concerned with is actions in terms of health (fluffing up, wheezing etc etc). Every budgie has their own wonderful personality- Jwancia's New Small Flock.
Getting another 3 tomorrow Pictures sooooooon!- When I Hate My Job...
Okay I need to vent.... I have a lady come into the store and say: "I just brought a few birds, and I dont know if I need a licence for them or what type they are. Could you tell me?" OMG! THERE IS SOOO MUCH WRONG WITH THAT QUESTIONS. Obviously im concerned, I calmly say, sure bring them in... and I sus out the situation. She walks in with a blue ringneck and a lorikeet. SO I start with the ringneck. I take the bird off her and have a look at it. Okay health, but skinny. I ask her what she is feeding it? Yer yer seed mix blah blah. But you wanna know what? Its a baby... so of course its not eating, cause its clearly not weaned!!! JGDIUGDWUGDEGGRR So I explain to her about hand rearing feed etc. All is good. The person she brought it off said they were both boys. No DNA test - no way of telling. I tell her this. Lorikeet looks okay. I ask them... Where did you get your birds from. THE BACK SEAT OF A GUYS CAR AT THE CARRIBEAN MARKET! OMG! (you can tell I aml livid when I have nothing to say). She says, oh I felt sorry for them- windows up and its hott. BLAH BLAH BLAH! OMG YOU ARE ENABELING HIM BY BUYING THEM! STUPID STUPID PERSON! People poo poo pet stores, but you would never buy birds like that from us. If we were to do something like that we would have the world on our back. SO anyways off they go. That night im laying in bed... OMG! WHAT ABOUT THE LORIKEET!? I didnt even think to mention its food. I didnt ask them what they were feeding it. DAMN I had no way to contact them. But thank god today they call and say... Umm our birds have things crawling on them...MITES. So in they come again and we have an opportunity to ask them about the Lori food. As we suspected... they were feeding it seed. STUPID MAN THAT TOLD THEM!.... I love my job because I can make a difference with the right advice. But I hate days like this that make you sick. OH! Not to mention people that call up asking if we want wild caught birds.... UM DER! NO WAY STUPID! Your lucky I dont know who you are to report you! GRRR. Oh and the people that bring in A NEST full of rosellas. " Oh we were watching this nest today and it was abandoned by the parents....." Oh really!? Your the expert!? Funny that they have FULL CROPS! Now you have ruined a nest of birds. You will have to rear the babies and you will never be able to release them. STUPID! Obviously all of this said with a sweet smile and a reassuring voice. BUT INSIDE ME THINKS YOUR STUPID! GGR- What Color Do You Call Him?
He is LOVELY!- Pics Of My Flock
Im gonna be biased and say you should MOVE TO AUZ! Its amazing here.- Any Thoughts On My New Seed Catcher Design?
