I dont use tube seed feeders. They clog up, they are messy and they are annoying. I use chineese takeaway dishes full of seed on the floor of the cage. Lasts ages with plenty of seeds to choose from. I use tube drinkers for water. Not crazy clarks or waynes world brands either. I get them from my club they are softer plastic and they do not break as easy. The base of it is also softer plastic and doesnt break up like cheap brands do.
  3. thats an excellent plan Linda it would be very easy to follow something like that.
  4. Not much happened today. Adjusted the baby cage to make it more suitable. All I did really was flip it upside down Babies looking really good, the grey green clutch babies are the best birds I've ever bred. Too some they may not be much but to me they are the best. Been viewing another forum and some of the exhibition breeders do not stop breeding their birds. Can you believe that. One person has a bird that has done 14 clutches in a row no breaks. Outrageous I feel sorry for the bird.
  5. far out look at the body on that bird. You'd need 2 hands to lift him.
  6. budgies will eat it all. What I did was cement floor, with a corner of straw and sugar cane with plant pots turned on their sides to act as nests. Works well for the quails.
  7. okay chamomile tea is good for respitory infections.
  8. what do you use sulpha avs for shannon
  9. never heard of spark. You've got a wormer which is good. Breeding aid I've never heard of or used. Neither have I used sulpha avs. So you've got more than me Shannon, which is a good thing. I have apple cidar vinegar, ivermectin spot on and water soluble, calcivet, moulting aid, skatta-7, wormout gel, ail.

Gday, havent posted many pictures lately thought I'd take a few to share. Enjoy. yf greywing sky greywing sky Their is always one bird that is looking for trouble. This bird is it. Her name is nibbler, she bites like anything and is not afraid of anything Do you remember Tiny? Sibling
  12. hens cant be split for sex linked genes. I assume by dark factor green you mean either dark green or olive. You would get green birds from that pairing, all cocks would be split the sex linked genes. All hens would have no sex linked genes what so ever. I agree with cranberry the dark factor of a bird doesn't mean anything with sex linked genes. You can get olive cinnamon Opaline hens. You can get dark green cinnamon hens. You can get mauve Opaline hens.
  13. Nothing mate just letting everyone know its out their. What have you been up to anyway Shannon.

  18. Chicks from tinys nest are growing very fast and looking quite good. Just got back from a 2 day job up in towoomba so I was unable to take pictures. On another note the vegetables are growing well. Got some broccoli, spinach, parsley, cauliflower and much more. Birds loving it.
  19. Very nice Kaz as always. Some of those babies really stand out to me, This one
  20. I feed both grey and black. They are good to use occasionally if you want to put weight on the birds or for a treat.
  21. Calcivet. Eggs.
  22. Birds when hot do breathe very fast and often. They will sit their with their wings out and just breath in and out. Depends if they are tired or hot. Could be moulting, could be lice or mites. Get some ail or ivermectin and apply it.
  23. Oh okay thanks very much for that is chick 3 a df spangle?
  24. It is so so frustrating. Sitting outside waiting and hoping to see the bird. Its worse than a bird dieing to me.
