  1. The parents are in the aviary? Where is the other baby?
  2. No problem shannon. Did you get any other chicks from the pair? Anymore fertile eggs? Any pics?

Woah Id be making a pillow out of all those feathers.
  4. Albinos get silver/white cheek patches, lace wings get brown. was your bird lacewing shannon?
  5. You will get 50% rec pieds and 50% normals split rec pied. So all chicks will be split rec pied shannon
  6. I agree. Just need to make sure. you keep an eye on them while they are in quarantine and help them through the moult. Heath, do you use moulting aid?
  7. I just had a look at the member lacewings section actually I don't think she has brown markings, I have looked but she seems to be entirely white. But now that the sun has gone down I can't really get a good look. Might have to check tomorrow. But I'm super confused about her eye now. Look: You'll have to take my word for it that the pupil is red - honest! When she is resting (as she is now, next to the lutino), they appear completely red. But with a bit of light on the eye (and the pupil smaller than normal), it has a coloured iris? Now I'm really confused. Liv: they grey boy and the lutino girl are 07 birds; the other two don't have rings (which surprises me in the case of the white bird). Woah it looks like ahuman eye, you get such good pictures honestly. If It werent for the feathers around it I would take that a s humans eye. To me that definitly looks black but if you say they are red then they are red. Sometimes cameras dont get the correct colours, try taking photos of a violet bird you will see what I mean. Inos' do get iris rings.
  8. Another good article.
  9. I beleive lacewings have red eyes aswell. Can you notice any brown markings or cheek patches ont he bird? If not then it is an albino.
  10. The white bird doesnt look to have red eyes and it has what looks to be brown cheek patches. The picture does not look albino, more like a lacewing in my opinion. That yf is excellent Emma. Just brilliant, you are very lucky.
  11. I make mine from the recipes from the FAQ also. I dont get any problems except I ocasionaly burn the seed
  12. Nice to meet you Elise.
  13. These are all excellent articles Daz thanks very much for getting them to us.
  14. Hi all. tomorow I am going to look for those rollup blinds you can get and I will be using them to stop rain getting in my aviary. I would like the ones very similar to Dave Mcminn's. Dave or any other member that has these, Can you please tell me where to get them from and what the price is? They would have to be waterproof and rust proof. Thanks all.
  15. Is trichomonads the same as trichomonasis?
  16. I make mine myself.
  17. Congratulations on the chick splat. I will take the first and last baby The parents are too die for. Awesome pair This pair is my favourite. Splat are your foster parents show budgies? My mate uses pet budgies as foster parents. He told me they are alot better parents and will raise chicks alot better than a show type would.

    Mine also like eucalyptus
  19. I've bought moulting budgies before.
  20. For two weeks you would need someone to take care of them. My mate feeds mine when I go away. I would leave them alone for 2-3 days at most. Somthing could happen in nests or one bird could get a disease. Or a snake could even get in the aviary and kill all the birds by the time you get back. My only suggestion is to get someone to come around every 2-3 days to check on them an top up seed and water. Those big seed bells would be good.
  21. I would personally pair him to another BLUE dom pied. You would get double factor dominant pieds which look awesome in my opinion. If the green one you currently have is split for blue you will get blue chicks also. If not then they will be all green. Perhaps if you like spangle you could get a blue dom pied spangle.
  22. Some of the uk breeders breed their birds for 5+ nests in a row. How they do it I dont know.
  23. Very interesting article. "Routinely treating a flock of birds with medication in an attempt to “kill” what may or may not be present is not responsible aviary management nor a substitute for sound management as it ignores the source of the problem."
