  1. Bugger, well I think the age ofthe girl might be about right, but I reckon the male is atleast a yeat old.
  2. They were wormed about two weeks ago
  3. Check his leg ring. If you write down what it says on it we might be able to tell you. There will be a number which is at right angles to the rest and that will be the birth year.
  4. I have one in there with a permanently browny-red face, she looks like a red faced blue. There are a few bits of reddish coloured bark chips in there and she hunts them out and chews them up!
  5. I can clear up the face staining I have a dirt floor in my aviary and they sometimes get dirty faces.
  6. Is she a yellow face as well or is it just my computer? Now that you mention it I can see the throat spots.
  7. That's what I would say, especially since she is a cremino which means it is much more likely for that one to be a hen. Hey where are you located?
  8. I love the dom pieds that get the yellow face. If you got a blue based dominant pied hen of any colour you should get white and blue/grey babies and yellow and blue babies, very pretty. The yellow budgie in my signature is a yellow face cobalt blue dominant pied spangle.
  9. okay well then it is a yellow face double factor baby, just has a lot of yellow already
  10. I was actually thinking that she could have been carrying blue and that yellow one might have been a green series DF spangle. It seemed to be a lot of yellow for a YF that's all I would have expected a more graduated cremino type look at that age as the yellow generally moves down as they get older..
  11. He is a yellow face spangle (the fish scale type markings on the wings) and Im guessing mum had the same wing pattern and was green(she would have been carrying blue)? It looks like you have got a couple of double factors spangles in there(the ones that are white and yellow with black eyes and no other markings or colour). I'm very jealous as despite my best efforts I haven't managed to get a double factor spangle yet.
  12. Time for Kaz to make a birds for sale topic
  13. Yes Liv but the more budgies you put in the bigger the box needs to be, the more it weighs and the more it costs. $80 is based on 2kg worth of box and budgies.
  14. But she would have to check it in 1 1/2 hours befor the flight and she doesn't actually have to be there until 30 minutes before hand. She is there on business and she's travelling with other people so it will throw out their schedule. I checked and she has to check it in personally otherwise it costs about $80.
  15. It's fine You could make it a bit bigger even
  16. WA has VERY strict rules about plant material as does Tasmania, plant material has to come from approved sources, we used to ship aquarium fish to WA and one of the hardest things was checking every bag to make sure there wasn't any zuchini left overs in the water, etc because the slightest green fleck and we could get into trouble
  17. Just spoke to AAE, it will be $50, as much as I would love a Cremino, probably not that much!
  18. According to the page listed by Derek, from those airports you need to pay the AAE rates. Also because it would have to go to a seperate terminal my mum wouldn't be able to drop it off, she won't have any transport in Perth.
  19. Pets are not permitted in the following airports: Adelaide, Alice Springs, Cairns, Darwin, Gove, Hobart, Karratha, Perth, Port Hedland and Townsville. It only applies to the backwards airports on the north and west of the country though, our south east coast airports are enlightened and allow you to check them in at the luggage counter as part of your free baggage allowance. If the budgies were coming from NSW or Brisbane it would cost me nothing for them to travel.
  20. I did see that link but what I didn't notice before was that it says that live animals aren't allowed in Perth airport which means...the budgies can't travel with my mum which means....no budgies
  21. Thanks DazI'll look into it when I have a moment and see what they say.I just realised one other reason you might not have been able to put loose seed in to Perth, WA has very strong rules about the import of plant material so they like to be able to easily identify anything coming in. A millet spray is much easier for someone checking at customs than a bunch of loose seed.
  22. Wow! Send him to my house and he can train my other half
  23. Liv as others have you are forgetting that the bird/s will be travelling as accompanied baggage which means the trip will be much shorter, but I will still give them water as you suggested, the cotton wool is a great idea.
  24. I think my box is fine Derek, it a nice solid brand new one 5 inches by 14 inches with secure latches on each end.
  25. We won't have to pay for the budgie to travel because it will travel as part of my mum's free luggage allowance ;)Do you recall which thread it was that we discussed the original budgie transfer on and who the other person that wanted one was? Sounds like they could travel together.Found it! It was Jimmy and he wanted a lacewing, hmmm maybe you should just tell us what you have extra to sell at the moment! I don't want to just go palming birds off you but there are probably others I would like too... always liked lacewings as well
