Male?
Here's a hint... If what I say differs to what others say, go with what they say!
-
Favourites
They are both very different but I like them both equally. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=24031 http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=12409 Daz's was one of the first I had seen built when I first came to the website and I thought it was Budgie Mecca and I like Kazzy's because its just so Australian.

Male?
Don't you like giving answers without giving an answer. It's great having a foot in each camp... It's a male, but it could be a female.
-
Albino Baby?
Agree with Jenny here. Do you know what the parents of the albino mother are? That's called Masking I remember that much...

Wessiri's Budgies
I can neither confirm or deny a discussion that may or may not have taken place on another website.

Male?
Doesn't look too British to me... Anyway that's not really important, what's important is you have some nice budgies. I'm gonna say its a male but it could be a female with a hormonal issue.

Questions
Is that a registered allowable link there Finnie? LOL!!!! What ever happened to the happy dance emotion...
-
Seeding Grasses
Agree with Tim, just take the seed that you already feed the birds and then grow them... You'd be surprised just how well they grow.

Things are going well for you! Well done and I hope it keeps progressing smoothly for you.

Albino Baby?
Sorry, when you say lutino lacewing do you mean some are Lutino and some are lacewing or do you mean they are yellow lacewings?the ino gene and lacewing gene are similar but they are not the same... I'm not great when it comes to genetics and when you dumb it down to my level you are left with a bunch of misinformation but yeah, they aren't the same.

What Sex Is My Budgie!
This place is unbelievable! No one stays on topic anymore LOL. And everyone breaks the rules! It's awesome!!!

Wessiri's Budgies
I decided to look for the option. On Topic - I believe both ***KAZ*** and RIPBudgies are saying that it's a Spangle Opaline Cinnamon Grey Green hen. I never would have figured that out... They know their stuff. Back off topic - I wish there was a way to tag people so that they got a notification in their email every time you mentioned them...

Wessiri's Budgies
Yeah, Not sure why and can't remember where to go to change it. Yeah the people were great, really helpful and friendly. Not that I'm sure the new people aren't just not the same

Saw This On Tumblr Today...
Got to agree with Finnie on this one... there is no sign of yf type 2 here. There's half a green series bird and half a blue series bird.

Wessiri's Budgies
LOL!!! So true. I forgot about the rules. This place is great, it's sad that in the old days you'd come home from work and check it and there'd be a long list of posts that you needed to catch up on and now things have slowed down so much. Still lots of great info though...

Wessiri's Budgies
A bit hard to explain but you could still do it if you wanted, you simply need 2 small pieces of doweel and drill a hole at each end of a larger (both round and length) peice of Dowel, then attach the small dowel to the ends of the aviary. I'm not great at varieties either, been a while since I sat down and went over them but, in your moving cage picture you've got: front row: the grey bird is a Spangle. can really see the wing markings for the other two. Back row: looks like a Normal green (can't see wings though), grey (can't see wings but the top of it doesn't look normal so maybe Opaline), pied (I always get recesive and Dominant Pied mixed up), Green Normal, Skyblue Normal. L__J - 2013
I guess tomorrow never came LOL.

Wild Type
They throw up Blue's in the wild... but from all accounts they don't last long because the stand out. Good luck with your breeding. Look forward to seeing your birds. Lets face it, the birds we all have now have all come from these little fella's. It's amazing what some time and skill and a tinge of luck can bring.

Poison Seed Again
That's why some people make their own seed mixes... that way you know what is going into it.

Budgerigar Breeders Club
Shame, this place has a ton or tonne (which ever is more) of information that if you search for you can find. Like KAZ says there are plenty of groups on facebook, I just get sick and tired of seeing all the same pictures in all the groups, and then you've got the people intent on claiming that they have a new mutation... I much prefer this place, but you're right Matt, it seems to be dying a slow death.
-
What Mutation Might This Budgie Be?
I'd pair it to a normal, that way it's easier to work out what mutation it is from the results.
-
Lacewing Or Fallow?
This one's got me confused... I hate genetic calculators, if they made one that actually made sense to me it might be different. My understanding is, and the genetic calculator might be saying this, if you pair a TCB cock with an ino hen you will get 50% TCB cocks split for albino and 50% TCB hens. The was I see it, the Lacewing gene works the same as the ino gene. therefore you will have 50% TBC cocks split for Lacewing and 50% TCB hens... You shouldn't get any normals...

Aloe Vera Questions
I've seen a Aloe Vera Tonic posted recently... can't remember if it was here or on Facebook though... It used the aloe plant rather than the juice. here is a link to pretty much the same thing I saw posted. http://www.bssainc.org.au/aloe-vera-the-miracle-cure.html I haven't used it personally but I've heard great things about it helping build up defences against disease not sure it can cure it though...

Vet In Melbourne
West Brunswick Veterinary Clinic 169 Dawson St, Brunswick. Cameron Wood was that Avian Vet from memory. haven't been in years so double check that he is still there. I know he had a female studying to become an avian vet there with him who was also had a bird shop on Sydney Road. She should have graduated by now, not sure if she is still there though.
