  1. Good pictures! I want to get an Canon DSLR... they take great shots. That said, you still need to know what makes a good shot and you've got that too. love the Bald Eagle shots.

    looking good.
  3. How is the build going there? As for breeders, I'd suggest you go to your local Budgerigar Society, I believe yours would be the Lincolnshire and East Anglia Budgerigar Society. Hope it all goes well for ya.
  4. I just checked out this calculator- 1.0 grey(sf) green spangle(sf) /blue x 0.1 D blue pallid(Tex.clearbody) % from all 1.0 6.25% 1.0 grey(sf) green /blue pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 grey(sf) green spangle(sf) /blue pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 green /blue pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 green spangle(sf) /blue pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 grey(sf) blue /pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 grey(sf) blue spangle(sf) /pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 blue /pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 blue spangle(sf) /pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 D grey(sf) blue /pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 D grey(sf) blue spangle(sf) /pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 D blue /pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 D blue spangle(sf) /pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 D grey(sf) green /blue(T2) pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 D grey(sf) green spangle(sf) /blue(T2) pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 D green /blue(T2) pallid(Tex.clearbody) 6.25% 1.0 D green spangle(sf) /blue(T2) pallid(Tex.clearbody) % from all 0.1 6.25% 0.1 grey(sf) green /blue 6.25% 0.1 grey(sf) green spangle(sf) /blue 6.25% 0.1 green /blue 6.25% 0.1 green spangle(sf) /blue 6.25% 0.1 grey(sf) blue 6.25% 0.1 grey(sf) blue spangle(sf) 6.25% 0.1 blue 6.25% 0.1 blue spangle(sf) 6.25% 0.1 D grey(sf) blue 6.25% 0.1 D grey(sf) blue spangle(sf) 6.25% 0.1 D blue 6.25% 0.1 D blue spangle(sf) 6.25% 0.1 D grey(sf) green /blue(T2) 6.25% 0.1 D grey(sf) green spangle(sf) /blue(T2) 6.25% 0.1 D green /blue(T2) 6.25% 0.1 D green spangle(sf) /blue(T2) Calculated on 01 Feb 2014 15:42:42 , Prague I'm not sure why you would breed a grey green spangle with a blue series texas clearbody but it sure does confuse me... I take it the 1.0 are Cocks and the 0.1 are Hens...
  5. Logan seems to be the place to be for Handy Men in Budgies. There used to be a guy called Daz on the forum, his breeding cages were great along with his breeding boxes. Was the tub of waterproofing enough to do all 9 trays?

do you need any special permits if its made out of bricks? Are you going to render it at the end or just leave it the way it is? Its the first brick birdroom I've seen in Australia it seems like a good idea, a bit expensive if you're not a bricky but good nonetheless.

Looking great mate. I look forward to seeing the progress.
  8. I'm not sure if she could be an Albino masking df spangle... I can't see why not because you can have an Albino masking spangle. Are you still colony breeding? The easiest way to find out what an albino is masking is to test breed it with a Normal that you know is not split for anything...
  9. Cobolt Greywing Spangle like his dad...
  10. Thanks for sharing.
  11. All going well you should have another egg today...
  12. They all look Cinnamon to me...

There are none unfortunately... I've spoken to a couple of guys who create apps about doing one and it would be awesome if someone who actually knew stuff could put it together in an app.
  14. She might lay more. Each hen is different plus, unless I missed where you said you bought her recently, it's her first time so that throws another spanner into the mix. Enjoy the Stress for at least the next 18 days
  15. I agree that it's completely wrong of the pet shop to give out wrong information but it is also the responsibility of the person buying the pet to educate themselves. Nowadays there is plenty of information around on the web. There's really no excuse.
  16. Finnie... If I brought an animal, any animal, into this house it would be the last thing I did...
  17. Lol, don't count your budgies before they hatch!
  18. Yeah. Should do me well for a little while Now the trick is actually building it. I've dug out the spot and a mate is planning to come over tomorrow and pour the slab... we were meant to pour it last week but didn't get the Decking done that we were supposed to... Wife's priorities come before mine LOL Happy Wife Happy Life.
  19. I wouldn't discard it at all... if this is your first time breeding there is no way that you are going to be 100% certain that it's fertile or not, let it sit until a couple of days after its due date.
  20. There's no reason for me to believe it isn't. Some eggs are and some eggs aren't time will tell
  21. I'd say it looks pretty normal. Enjoy watching your budgies breed Hopefully all goes well for you. Sorry I've been away from the site for a while how many birds do you have at the moment?
  22. You can touch the egg, it won't hurt. Don't shake it around or anything but you can touch it. When you say: "She laid it this arv.." Do you mean this afternoon? If so they lay every 2 days. Some hens don't start incubating until the 2nd or 3rd egg. Without a picture of the egg it's hard to say if it is big or small. If you wait a week or so and then shine a bright torch onto the egg it will be easier to see if the egg is fertile. Deep Breaths
  23. I'm thinking this is going to be the one. I'm just going to start out slow so all 4 of those breeding cages won't be in use straight away, but hopefully after a while I'll have the place chirping with budgies...
  24. Agree with the rest. I can understand why he is saying its a M. There is a bluish tinge to the cere but it's definitely a female.
  25. Tossing up between a few designs... What to do, what to do... all are 3 x 3. I've checked with my council and anything 3 x 3 or under doesn't need a permit. And it is going to be 500mm from the fence line. They are all pretty basic no running water or anything like that. Just nice aviary/birdrooms...
