What Are We...
okay, this is as good as it gets. I took some photos of the kids and I'm hoping you can help me out with their sex... Green ring on left leg: No ring: Green ring on right leg: Red ring: I'm hoping to pack off two of the kids to their news homes this week, so I'm keen to make a few decisions. Thanks all.

Exciting News...
I'm very excited to be able to announce that I am permitted to keep two budgies in my unit! :parrot: The conditions are that they don't make a mess (I vacuum daily and keep things pretty clean) and that they don't become noisey. If any complaints are made, they will have to go, but she and I both hope this won't happen. So I'm pumped. I was a little scared to ask her as I was worried what she'd say, but it's all good. I'm trying to get some clear cere shots to confirm sex of my opalines, but the photos are not comming up clear. I do however have two favorites who step up without too much trouble, so I may just keep them anyway. I'll post some photos here soon

Hi All
First thing first, don't give her lettuce. It won't have hurt her, but it contains only water and gives her no nutrients. Go for silverbeet or box choy etc... The lettuce probably made her poo more. As long as her poos look normal, I wouldn't worry. Budgies do poo alot It's great you were able to clean out her cage. Changing things and toys around mean she wont get bored, and keeping her near you will also get her used to you and your voice.

Breeding Budgies
Hi and welcome. Sorry about your first chick. I hope your second one makes it okay, and a morning and evening check should be enough. What are you feeding the parents. I too had only one pair breeding and there is always those risks... I fed mine hardboiled eggs (shell and all), carrot, corn, peas, bok choy, and egg and biscuit... all mixed up finely in the mixer. They downed it very quickly and it gave them plenty to give their babies. This was given mornings and taken out at night. I also made sure my hen had some millet in the nest box so she could snack also. Good luck and please keep us updated.

Welcome To The City Of Bbc
WHAT!!!!!! Hands off my island you!!! I own that island. My 'small abode' is currently being built as we speak, so as you can imagine, no pictures as yet. I want to get her best side, if you know what I mean. I'm also in the process of getting my 'holiday' units built on the other side of my island, for those of you who need a holiday. Each unit will have built in aviaries and a lovely private beach

Game: Go Fish

Biting Budgie
Agreed... OUCH!!! I've had a few few like that and boy do they hurt... as does the bite for a long time! BUT... a budgie bite will never hurt as much again after being bitten by my male cockatiel who didn't want to held. He nearly took the end off my finger!!! Back on Topic (sorry). If it is still a baby, I'd keep doing what you are doing and see how you go. S/he might grow out of it. You can only try. Out of my five bubs, one was a massive biter, so it made my decision on who to put into the aviary with my flock very easy (Bless my little Gypsy)

Game: Go Fish
GO FISH!!! (my high school was excellent, untill they decided to close the local TAFE school. It was very rough around the edges and well, yeah, you get my drift. Sooooo, these kids all ended up at my school along with some teachers, so now my beloved high school has dropped several pegs of the status of schools... It's very sad as we were among the best in our area Do you exercise as much as you should?

Notes For New Owners...
As you all know, my two opalines are going to new homes soon. I have received a cage from one couple, which I have soaked, scrubed and soaked again and it's now hanging on the line to dry. Then I'll pop their little girl into it for a few days for me to watch and then she's off to her new home. The other one had a tiny cage and I told her it was too small, so she's off to the market with measurements in hand to get a new one. My question is this. They have both owned budgies before, and I trust they will give them excellent homes, but I was wondering if anyone has a 'how to look after me' letter for new budgie owners. I can write on myself, but I am lazy and I'm sure to forget things. If anyone has one I can get a copy of, that would be awsome. I'll probably add some extra notes, along with my phone number for emergencies. Cheers maesie xo

Go Fish (But along with Ferrets, it's something else I'd like to own one day) Are you 'handy' around the house (i.e. can you fix stuff???)
